Description
After a few years away, I am returning to Workaway. Before I had farm animals and now I have a sanctuary for rescued dogs and cats. Because of the war in Ukraine, I have taken in more rescue animals and I need help taking care of them :)
I am a Native English speaker who runs a small animal sanctuary for dogs and cats.
After 20 years of sitting behind a desk I decided to 'drop out' and realise my dream.
I brought this farm about 15 years ago and have slowly been renovating the house and making use of the outbuildings I have. I love this life but I need help to 'move things along'.
I like working with people as well as individually. In my time here I have learnt many new skills and am always open to learning more.Types of help and learning opportunities

I need help around the sanctuary, mainly with the animals. Whether you are a dog or a cat person (or both) the animals are the first priority here.
Dogs - They need feeding two times a day, cleaning kennels, picking up poop, brushing, bathing, socialising, walking and most of all human contact.
Cats - Feeding two times a day, cleaning litter boxes, sweeping floors and cuddling.
Photo and videos
There are also many other things to do repairing fences, chopping wood and whatnot.
I want to make your stay here enjoyable. There is some hard work and some really fun work. Something really to suit everyone. I'm not going to clean up after you, we all muck in to keep everything as clean and tidy as possible.Languages spoken

I have one large bedroom available with a wood burner for colder months. At the moment it has cats so you need to be crazy about cats to sleep there :) I also have an old caravan to sleep in and you can make use of the house facilities.
In the warmer months If you have your own tent or motorhome/ accommodation I have space for both. I have a shower for you to use but I don't heat my water everyday, Electric here is expensive here so I economise wherever I can. There is a small grocery shop in the village but it isn't open every day.
I will provide food, which you will have to cook yourself, for 4/5 hours work a day.
The day is split as the animals need feeding in the morning and late afternoon.
I am a smoker but only outside, not in the house,What else ...
I am an hour north of Prague in a small village, the nearest small town is about 10Km away and there is a bus that runs almost every day (not at weekends). I am on a cycling route, bicycles are available for hire in the nearest town. I am near to the Bohemian national forest and Kokořín. A dream for hikers and cyclists. There are many wonderful places to visit nearby. Castles, chateaus etc. Transport is very cheap here, as is eating out. There is a very nice Vietnamese restaurant/ take out in the nearest small town and a pub/restaurant that serves varied & Czech food.
It's very quiet here and the area is beautiful. In the village there is a museum (mentioned above), a rozhledna (lookout tower), a very old church, fruit trees all along the roads leading into the village. A goat farm where cheese and other wonderful things are made, a handmade soap maker and a highly skilled glass decorator. And, not forgetting the local characters :-)A little more information
