I am Savita, proprietor of the Wellness Sanctuary. I am a nature buff through and through; eating, sleeping, playing, working in nature is all I really love.
The Sanctuary is an off shoot of this love, providing a peaceful setting for those turning their attention inward, to a deeper meaning in life found in the stillness within. Amrit Dhara Ayurveda is our wellness practice, offering consultations, therapies, products and education.
We have a 5 bedroom custom built guest house with touches of class; granite, cork, oak, heated tile floors. Glamping, camping, yurt workshop space, sweat lodge, Garden House, 20 acres of organic gardens and west coast forest are here to sooth your soul, enliven your heart and inspire your mind.
Work Awayers will enjoy this peaceful setting and its organic food offerings, while contributing to the expansion of the trail network, gardens, infrastructure and joy of living holistically, naturally, in tune with each other and the environment.

The Island is the most popular island in the Salish Sea, located just off the coast of Vancouver, BC. A mecca for travelers, Salt Spring hosts the world renown Saturday Market, the Tree House Cafe with 155 summer nights of live music, whale watching, kayaking, eagles, owls, the odd cougar and bear. Salt Spring offers international performing arts and music, fine building artisans and craft persons, echo tourism, and the best healthy food trucks in the world.
The Sanctuary hosts Amrit Dhara Ayurveda, and models the teachings of yoga and ayurveda as a lifestyle practice. Work Away folks can expect to be exposed to organic fresh whole food, attention to personal wellness through body, heart and soul based practices, meditation, yoga and awakening community.
Singles or couples are welcome, however we are not geared towards children and pets are not permitted due to the nature reserve.
This is a private meditation and healing centre, fully operating but still in the development stages. Help is required for trail building, blackberry clearing, raking and planting new lawns, deck painting, and some simple carpentry and maintenance work installing shelves, replacing door handles, putting on a screen door, etc.
Work-away folks use the Garden House (modest outdoor kitchen, 2 private showers, outhouse) for bathing and meals. Basic and fresh food items will be available for Work Away participants to prepare food for themselves. We encourage a whole food diet while at the sanctuary. We will supply you with enough dry fresh foods for two meals per day, which will be vegetarian or vegan in nature. We discourage the cooking of red meats or pork on the property. We do not offer or encourage the use of a barbecue.
Sleeping accommodations are either your gear/your tent, your gear/our tent, screen house or one room studio. Persons will be placed depending on availability, need and number of hours.
We are located a half hour walk to the closest town on a quiet country lane. Woodland walking trails can take you almost to town. The land here is stewarded with utmost attention to the natural environment, working with nature as opposed to controlling her. The sounds of bird call and the wind in the trees are most prevalent, creating a safe and inviting backdrop for all who enter to be nourished, supported, held, and inspired.
We are mindful to only use chemical free, unscented products as much as possible, to lighten the impact on ourselves, each other and our septic fields.
We encourage non consumption of red meat, pork and heavily processed foods and ask folks to consume those items off land if they wish. Cooking eggs and chicken are ok and plenty of fruit and veggies will be available from the garden. Alcohol in limited quantities is fine. This is a non smoking venue.
