Description
We run an eco-lodge in the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. The place is a natural paradise, surrounded by stunning nature and wildlife. We share this space with four Indigenous communities: Kogis, Wiwas, Arhuacos, and Kankuamos.
We welcome guests mainly during holiday periods and organize holistic retreats throughout the rest of the year.
Administramos un eco-lodge en el corazón de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, en Colombia. El lugar es un paraíso natural, rodeado de una naturaleza impresionante y vida silvestre. Compartimos este espacio con cuatro comunidades indígenas: Kogis, Wiwas, Arhuacos y Kankuamos.
Recibimos huéspedes principalmente durante los períodos vacacionales y organizamos retiros holísticos durante el resto del año.

We have created our space in search of a fairer alternative to what the dominant system typically offers. Our place is essentially a natural sanctuary, open to those who wish to share good vibes, love, and positive energy.
We are constantly building and maintaining our structures—made of wood, bamboo, and earth—and implementing permaculture projects, while also exploring various holistic practices to face life’s challenges.
Local Indigenous communities and alternative medicine healers are welcome to take part in our daily life, and we are eager to share and promote these alternative experiences to help grow our community.
We believe we have much to offer to those seeking a non-conventional lifestyle, and we are open to learning from the inner teacher that each person carries within.
Hemos creado este espacio en busca de una alternativa más justa que la que ofrece el sistema dominante. Nuestro lugar es, básicamente, un santuario natural abierto a quienes deseen compartir buenas vibras, amor y energía positiva.
Estamos constantemente construyendo y manteniendo nuestras estructuras—hechas de madera, bambú y barro—e implementando proyectos de permacultura, además de investigar diversas prácticas holísticas para afrontar los desafíos de la vida.
Las comunidades indígenas locales y sanadores de medicinas alternativas son bienvenidos a participar en nuestra vida cotidiana, y estamos dispuestos a compartir y promover estas experiencias alternativas con el fin de ampliar nuestra comunidad.
Creemos que tenemos mucho que ofrecer a quienes buscan un estilo de vida no convencional, y estamos abiertos a aprender del maestro que cada uno lleva dentro.

Help
We need help in various areas: guest reception, cleaning and maintenance of facilities, common areas, cabins, pool... etc, gardening and greenhouse care, maintenance of structures—such as wooden cabins, bamboo buildings, and adobe projects—as well as the design and implementation of educational programs, including teaching local children and adults (yoga, pilates, swimming, martial arts, languages, etc.). Any task to be developed by workawayers will be agreed with them in advance to ensure a smooth relation.
Necesitamos ayuda en diferentes áreas: recepción de huéspedes, limpieza y mantenimiento de instalaciones, espacios comunes, cabañas, piscina... etc, jardinería y cuidado del invernadero, construcción y mantenimiento de estructuras —como cabañas de madera, edificaciones de bambú y proyectos en adobe—, así como en el diseño e implementación de programas educativos, incluyendo la enseñanza a niños y adultos de la comunidad (yoga, pilates, natación, artes marciales, idiomas, etc.). Cualquier tarea a desarrollar por los workawayers será acordada con ellos previamente para asegurar una relación sin fricciones.

We speak Spanish at home and are quite comfortable with English, as we host many international visitors. I also speak some French and am familiar with Slavic languages, having lived in several countries of the former Yugoslavia for a few years after its breakup. Hablamos español en casa y nos sentimos bastante cómodos con el inglés, ya que recibimos a muchos visitantes internacionales. También hablo algo de francés y estoy familiarizado con las lenguas eslavas, ya que viví varios años en distintos países de la ex Yugoslavia después de su desintegración.
Accommodation
We offer accommodation in natural structures with a toilet and shower—wooden or bamboo cabins. When activity is low, we're happy to use any of our cabins to host our team. We simply ask for care and attention to be given to the facilities, so they remain in good condition and ready for use when needed.
We also provide meals, as we regularly cook for both workers and guests. One, two, or three meals per day can be arranged depending on the volunteer’s level of involvement.
We will not charge any amount to volunteers. We are looking for people willing to collaborate with us and we are willing to host them in exchange. The hosting places available for volunteers will be in accordance with our availability, but we will use all our cabins for the propose.
Ofrecemos alojamiento en estructuras naturales con baño y ducha—cabañas de madera o bambú. Cuando no hay mucha actividad, nos complace utilizar cualquiera de nuestras cabañas para alojar a nuestro equipo. Solo pedimos cuidado y atención hacia las instalaciones, para que se mantengan en buen estado y estén listas para usarse cuando sea necesario.
También ofrecemos comida, ya que solemos cocinar para los trabajadores y los huéspedes. Se pueden acordar una, dos o tres comidas al día, dependiendo del grado de participación del voluntario.

The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is one of the most biodiverse and culturally rich mountain ranges in the world. Rising abruptly from the Caribbean coast to snowy peaks exceeding 5,700 meters, it encompasses an incredible range of ecosystems—from tropical beaches to cloud forests and alpine tundra. Visitors can enjoy Tayrona National Park and its stunning beaches, hike to the Lost City (Ciudad Perdida), or engage with indigenous communities—the guardians of the land—learning about their cosmology and worldview. Wildlife abounds; trekking, bicycling, bird watching, river tubing, horseback riding, and motorcycling are just a few of the activities available in the surrounding area.
La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta es una de las cordilleras con mayor biodiversidad y riqueza cultural del mundo. Alzándose abruptamente desde la costa caribeña hasta picos nevados que superan los 5.700 metros, abarca una increíble variedad de ecosistemas, desde playas tropicales hasta bosques nubosos y tundra alpina. Los visitantes pueden disfrutar del Parque Nacional Tayrona y sus impresionantes playas, caminar hasta la Ciudad Perdida o interactuar con las comunidades indígenas—guardianas de la tierra—aprendiendo sobre su cosmología ancestral y su visión del mundo. La vida silvestre abunda; el senderismo, el ciclismo, la observación de aves, el descenso en tubos por los ríos, el paseo a caballo y el motociclismo son solo algunas de las actividades disponibles en los alrededores.

Digital Nomads are welcome. We live in the mountains, in a tropical jungle, so internet outages can occur during storms. However, the service is usually restored by the following day. We are also looking into installing the necessary equipment to get a satellite connection and expect to have it in place by this coming summer. Vivimos en la montaña, en una selva tropical, por lo que pueden ocurrir cortes de internet durante las tormentas. Sin embargo, el servicio suele restablecerse al día siguiente. También estamos evaluando la instalación del equipo necesario para obtener conexión satelital, y esperamos contar con ella a partir de este verano.
Can possibly accept pets
If you have a pet, please let us know in advance. Our property covers 20,000 m², so we generally have no problem accepting pets. However, please keep in mind that there is wildlife in the area, and your pet will need to share the space respectfully with it. Si tienes una mascota, por favor háznoslo saber con anticipación. Nuestra propiedad tiene una extensión de 20.000 m², por lo que en principio no tenemos inconveniente en aceptar animales. Sin embargo, ten en cuenta que hay vida silvestre en la zona, y tu mascota deberá compartir el espacio de forma respetuosa con ella.
