Description
Hello and welcome. We are a family of 3, living off grid living about 10km upriver from Dawson City, in the old agricultural area called Sunnydale. Access is by boat over the Yukon River or by vehicle the Top of the World Hwy.
We grow our own food, gather our firewood and berries and hunt for our own wild meat, in between working full time and supporting the kids through sports and extra curricular activities in town.
We also keep 11 dogs, who act as pets and sled-dogs for transportation and adventure in winter.
We have many DIY projects on the go, including a log addition to our current home, which we are looking for helpful and talented hands to come join and add their talents to the project!
(***Experience building would be an asset and we can talk about additional pay/opp'ss)
We also have a nice size garden which provides enough food for our family and you too, but that is only possible if we all spend time and help out a little bit each day, including with planting, weeding, tilling, watering and loving the plants.
Other projects include, brushing, painting, fencing and general property maintenance. And of course spending lots of time hanging, playing and working with the dogs, which is quite important as well .
Cooking skills and having the ability in taking the initiative is also an asset and important.
We look forward to trying the foods from your culture as we will share ours!
Helping with house work in general is appreciated raising 2 kids (half time), working full time and living off grid w dogs and gardens leaves little time to keep the house up.
***currently looking for a longer term stay from a "Super Work-a-Wayer" to help with the dogs and keep the house going. Longer term stays allow for more experience and training the dogs for races and adventure!
It's all about teamwork here!
Contact us with your story and what you can add to ours.
Thanks in advance for your interest.
