Description
Hi folks,
we are in the process of finding new ways of living together in a rural community. We bought an old guesthouse in Gutenstein, which is the center of the project and where we eat, work and live together. It is still being renovated, but it is already a very cozy place with lots of space to get creative. The village of Gutenstein is located in an Austrian valley, surrounded by beautiful forests, mountains and smaller towns.
Besides the village project, we also have a guesthouse on the Mariahilfberg. There is a lot to do there and here we could use helping hands. Furthermore, there is a company in the village that builds self-sufficient caravans. So it's all about how we want to live in the future.
Ideally you would work half days, depending on your skills and the difficulty of the work. We'll provide lunch and lodging,
At the end you will have enough free time to visit the surrounding area or visit Vienna, cook with us, chat, play games or sports and, if you are brave enough, take a cold bath in the nearby stream.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing experiences, love and laughter :)Types of help and learning opportunities

How do we want to live in the future? We are sure, that it is absolutely necessary to create new possibilities for a more sustainable way of living, especially on the countryside where we normally need a lot of space and resources to build our homes. At the same time we believe that many answers to our problems today is in the concept of villages, that create a local circular supply with food, energy and work. With the association we founded we want to support that. If you come and work with us you can learn about our ideas and help to build the foundation of what could be a self-sustained village in the future!
Help
We need assistance with instantenance help and renovation/removal of a wooden shed.
For most of the work it will be necessary to use powered tools (saws, screwdrivers, etc.) or some power. So if you're just a thumb sucker, this may not be the best choice for you ;) On the other hand, if you are handy and able to work on your own, we would be happy to provide a small subsidy for your stay.Languages spoken

You will get your own room (with bathroom) in our guesthouse on the mountaintop of Mariahilfberg. We do have other options available as well and either way will provide something comfy for you ;)
What else ...
Gutenstein is an awesome place surrounded by nature, so you will also find a lot that you can see and do in your spare time. In summer you can go hiking, running, swimming, climbing, mountainbiking or other sports and during winter there are even possibilities for skiing or back country skiing ... nature is lovey here! In the evenings we sit together, talk, cook, play and just share time :)

every evening there was a workout session and it was fun. Brian is a very helpful person and hope to meet you all again.
She did fulfil all the given tasks and integrated herself very quickly in our project and household. After a very short time it felt like she has always been there and she would never leave :) ... almost shocking that she left indeed at the end. We will miss her lovely attitude and happy character… read more

We wish you all the best mate :)
From her first day on she merged with the group as if she`d always been there. She managed herself independently, finished all tasks in time and with high quality and was overall a great help and a lovely company.
