    Description

We are a family of 5, 3 kids, 2 adults with 4 dogs, 3 old cats & 13 cows, 5 goats, & lots of chickens. We have a love of the land, animals and a love of the environment, and keen to try this off grid life with zest!

We are excited for ANY help across these areas, planting rainforest trees, stone work, gardening, help with kids (they are teens so no changing nappies here), animals, fencing, carpentry, building, landscaping, plumbing, electrical work, mowing....or just sharing our life with you & gaining some help as we go, even washing up is a huge help to us or keeping house tidy as simple as that sounds it all makes a difference, or just follow us around and learn the ropes so you can enjoy the morning feeding and caring for all the animals, learn how to herd cows, how to maintain mtb tracks, help with keeping our campers happy re: wood delivered or a little cleaning etc!!

We have a garden we are trying to expand, we would love to create with our pre loved windows a green house, we would love to finish the stone work on our little cabin, or help with day to days, managing animals, keeping gardens in check, and giving you an adventure off grid, on a beautiful mountain, with a beautiful river to take a dip in, GREAT in Summer! We are open to any. help we can get! Building always, and gardening in desperate need of a green thumb!

In return, we offer good food, fun, basic accomodation (you are welcome to sleep in loft in cabin especially in winter so much warmer but you do have the chaos of our family life) OR in a caravan with a double bed, double bunk beds and all facilities for cooking etc. Outside toilet & shower. Or come inside the house and use the inside ones we now have. A river just a walk away to swim in, lots of space to go for walks and find your own space, or hang out with our crazy family and never be bored! HAhahah.

We will be your tour guides as we truely love it up here and are keen to show you around and make your stay not just about helping us, but creating some amazing memories for you too! 45 min to Wingham Train Station, 1.5 hrs to Old Bar Beach or Harrington, (if you need a beach fix) or 3 min to Ellenborough Falls (famous water fall in NSW). If you have a bike, or you don't.. borrow one, get around the area when you have spare time or you just want to escape the farm.

October is the best month here, warm summer like days, still cool nights for a fire, but the river is still icy, but worth the effort to get in, AND we get fire flies in October (super special)! And if you can fish, we would love you to see if we have any perch in those damns after the floods, so bring on those skills! Dec to March are very warm, and can be rainy months but make for great days in the river. Winter brings change and you enjoy rugging up, more cooking we find, more keeping house, less mowing and mow animal care work and garden management. Icy hills mean fun mornings with kids on slopes with boogie boards!

We are looking for adventure keen people, ready for off grid living in it's raw, (yes we have hot shower & toilet & internet despite being off grid so not too raw hahahaha), and bus to town in school times!

Looking forward to hearing from you! Jenny & Lucas and our feral and noisy kids and dogs!

Enjoying being part of a family, helping plant rainforest trees, helping to better what we can provide our camping customers so they have to bring less, and generally enjoying their stay as we do love to cook, and show them around so they have fun while they are here! Help

We have loads of things to do here.... gardens to get into place, fences to build, cattle sheds to build, stone work to complete, animals to feed, kids to wrangle (hahaha), business to run and more signage to create, along with some major works like a roof over the caravan (for our guests) and to capture water for our gardens. But any. help is super appreciated! We have loads of trees to get into the ground too, and prep work for that!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Our eldest son now has taken to living in caravan, so sadly we don't have that. But we do have a comfy loft in our home, plus can setup a tent with a spring mattress behind cabin or in a more private location of your choosing if you prefer. Yes to hot water showers, yes to swims in river, yes to wifi, yes to washing machine, yes you can charge phones/battery packs, yes to good food & yes we have a fridge, and fire place for winter!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In the summer, swimming LOTS in the river... through to, bush walks, or head into town and go to cafes, or just hang out on the mountain - lie and fall asleep in a hammock between the trees next to the river, Ellenborough Falls walk, rapids, Potaroo Falls, Rowley's rock, blue knob, visit local farms, enjoy the fresh air, the stars, the fire place, the fresh water river, and generally just enjoy the feeling of freedom. But happy to drop them into town once a week, and there is a local cafe and corner shop. And buses that go from here to town. Nature to see up here! The beach is only 1 hr 30 min away as well. OR JUST grab a hammock and setup somewhere on the 90 acres and get away from us and everyone else! :).
