We are a family with three young children who run a deer farm on the edge of the Ochils in the beautiful county of Clackmannanshire in Scotland. The estate has some cottages, managed woodland, and extensive overgrown gardens. We are currently in the process of renovating part of the farm and have plans to restore the gardens which include a large walled garden. My husband works on the farm and estate full time and i split my time between the farm, garden and the children. We are a short bicycle ride from two small towns, that both have banks, post offices, small supermarkets and pubs. It takes 20 minutes by car to Stirling and 50 minutes to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The area has some beautiful hill and valley walking and various tourist attractions including Stirling castle, the Wallace monument and Castle Campbell. We can offer the use of two bicycles throughout your stay and can also drop you off at the nearby bus and train stations if you want to explore Scotland further.
We encourage couples to stay with us and have a cosy one bedroom house on the farm. We regularly take volunteers for longer periods of time and often find workaways are keen to stay longer, a year being the longest anyone stayed with us!

Help in the house
Living and working on a farm in beautiful countryside. There’s always something going on around the farm and plenty of rewarding jobs. We are walking distance from two small towns and have extensive hill walking and sightseeing all around.
We have plenty of rewarding tasks to welcome volunteers including general farm, gardening, hedge planting, tree clearing, hedge laying, wall building, fence repairs, building tasks, decorating, livestock handling and feeding and possibly helping out with childcare. There is the opportunity to help alongside both of us or individually depending on the type of activity. We are also in the process of starting up various renewable energy schemes and currently have a wood fuelled biomass boiler which heats the farm and surrounding buildings.
A large comfortable 2 bedroom caravan with kitchen and bathroom. It also has a gas heater!
We also now have a one bedroom house available.
We are keen to welcome anyone who is prepared to muck in and help us out with some of the rewarding projects we currently have taking place.
We are a relaxed young couple who are happy to chat about what would be expected of you and the sort of help we would have on offer if you came to stay. We can offer board and lodging in return for an extra pair of hands which is much needed!
