  • Description

    Description

We are a married couple living in a quiet village about an hour from Budapest, Hungary. We have a big garden, chickens, and cats, and we enjoy the peacefulness of country life.

Our home is a great place to enjoy nature, animals, and authentic Hungarian village life. Budapest is close enough for day trips and exploring the city.

We both speak English well and love meeting people from different cultures, sharing experiences, and welcoming friendly people into our home. We look forward to exchanging stories, learning from each other, and enjoying life in the countryside together!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We love sharing our Hungarian culture and traditions with people from around the world. I enjoy cooking traditional Hungarian meals and would be happy to share recipes and teach some cooking skills. You will also have the opportunity to experience everyday life in a Hungarian village and learn about our local customs and way of life.

We enjoy meeting people from different cultures, exchanging stories and ideas, and learning about their countries, traditions, and food. We hope our time together will be a lovely cultural exchange where everyone can share their knowledge, learn something new, and feel at home.

    Help

We would appreciate help with our garden and household, as well as various seasonal tasks such as preserving fruit and vegetables. There are always jobs to do around the house and garden, including painting, woodwork, and small renovation projects where you can help my husband.

I love cooking, so I would be happy to have some help in the kitchen. We also need help looking after our chickens, and collecting fresh eggs.

The tasks will vary depending on the season and your interests and abilities.

We hope you will enjoy being part of our everyday life and experiencing the pleasures of living in the Hungarian countryside!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We offer simple but comfortable accommodation in the loft area of our spacious house, with two single beds. There are also two separate bedrooms in the house. Our home is relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of space to feel at home.

We provide three meals a day. In Hungary, lunch is traditionally the main meal, usually consisting of soup followed by a main course. For breakfast, we often enjoy fresh eggs from our own chickens, while dinner is usually something simple, such as sandwiches or leftovers from lunch. We enjoy home-cooked food and sharing our Hungarian food traditions with our guests.

We eat a varied diet that includes meat, grains, and dairy products. Unfortunately, as we both work, we have limited time for cooking and cannot prepare separate meals to accommodate special dietary requirements or food sensitivities. Please keep this in mind before applying.

Our cats are part of the family and are welcome inside the house. Therefore, our place may not be suitable for people with cat allergies or those who don't feel comfortable around cats. If you love cats, you'll feel right at home!
