Description
I’m a builder living on the same property as my parents and uncle. I always have projects on the go and enjoy teaching people different skills and learning new skills from travellers too. I mill wood, but don’t need help with that (mostly cedar) but it’s handy having another pair of hands when stacking some of the milled timber. We are lucky to live on our beautiful property that is about 3km from Havelock North and Hastings. We have a stream at the back of the property for feeding the eels, a treehouse and my uncle is a sculptor so more art than you can imagine, his place is like a museum. I live in my own seperate area with a kitchen, bedroom with ensuite and a cabin (for my guests or workaways). My parents live in the main house which is separated by a fence. We have another cabin by the pool for guests and a spare room in the main house.

If you like diving, I have 2 boats I’m repairing at the moment, and recently bought a sailboat but it needs a little work and I need to learn how to sail also haha. I enjoy taking people out freediving/spearfishing but need to finish fixing up a boat first. I do freediving training and am happy to share my knowledge. I also am a qualified carpenter and hobby woodworker, I have a lot of tools and machines so can do a lot of fun projects, I’m happy to teach some building/renovating & woodworking skills subject to whether or not I’m working on a project. I recently bought a sawmill and it’s pretty cool to see a log get turned into usable timber.
Help
I’m always working around the property and would like help with small building projects, sometimes stacking timber etc. There are always jobs around to do, like weeding (we have a weed puller so you can do it standing) Food will be provided but would enjoy sharing cooking dinners, or cooking together. I want to plant native plants by the river, I have firewood that regularly needs cutting and stacking for those that have experience with that, I want to build another bathroom and move one of the cabins, also there are also walnuts to crack.

There are 4 Dutch speakers on the property, I would love to learn Italian!Accommodation
Sleep-out cabin with a double bed. There is a main house 30 meters away and my own stand alone kitchen close by. Swimming pool available for a great wake up routine. Also an outdoor bath and shower (also indoor)
What else ...
Hawkes Bay is a beautiful place with hikes, biking, beaches, mountains, rivers. I go freediving & spear fishing often, and surfing, I have a few boards and wetsuits, I also go mountain biking up a mountain 10 minutes away, as tame or extreme as you want. Parties and festivals are always around, some great local restaurants & wine around too.
