Description
** Looking for a 1–2 Week Workaway Stay **
Hi,
We're a friendly family of four living in Mackay, Queensland, the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. We became Workaway hosts because we had such an amazing experience using Workaway ourselves while travelling around Europe in 2015–2016, and we'd love to return the favour by welcoming fellow travellers into our home.
About us
We have two awesome kids, our energetic 9 year-old son and our sassy 7 year-old daughter. Fair warning... they're full of energy! If you're looking for a quiet house where you can sleep in every morning, this probably isn't the best fit. But if you enjoy being around kids, having a laugh, and don't mind a bit of organised chaos, you'll fit right in.
Bonus points if you're sporty or active! Our kids love kicking a footy, playing outside, riding bikes, swimming, and generally burning off energy. If you're happy to join in, they'll think you're the coolest person ever.
What we're looking for
We're after someone who wants to become part of the family for 1–2 weeks rather than just ticking off work hours.
Typical jobs include:
General household help
Light painting
Gardening and yard maintenance
Odd tasks and basic DIY
Helping tidy up after meals and pitching in with everyday family life
We're not looking for perfection or someone to do everything, we simply appreciate people who notice what needs doing, lend a hand, and share the workload.
Where you'll stay
You'll have your own caravan in our backyard, with access to the shared bathroom inside the house.
We're only a few minutes from Mackay's town centre, making it easy to explore the local area during your free time.
A few things
🚭 Non-smokers only, please.
We'd love to host positive, easy-going backpackers who enjoy family life and are happy to get involved.
A good sense of humour and a willingness to muck in are much more important than having lots of experience.
If this sounds like your kind of Workaway, we'd love to hear from you! -
