Description
Hello!
My name is Chizumi.
I live in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. It's famous as a pottery town,
and is a city with international exchange, home to Chubu Centrair International Airport.
It's a convenient city, yet it's also rich in nature, with plenty of sea, bamboo groves, and fields.
I love traditional Japanese houses.
I run a vegan cafe in a traditional house, and the reason I decided to become a Workaway host is that
I own a 130-year-old house for personal use, and I wanted to work with people interested in Japanese architecture and renovation to make it beautiful.
I also hope to connect with people interested in Japanese vegan cuisine, fostering learning and interaction.
Those interested in Japanese houses, renovations, and vegan cuisine are very welcome.
Also, my cafe is located in a famous pottery tourist area. You'll surely enjoy sightseeing as well.
🌱Required time and details of tasks needed:
Painting the walls of the house, maintaining the bamboo forest, creating art from recycled materials in the house, cleaning.
🌱Rules regarding internet and phone use:
Wi-Fi is available in the cafe.
🌱Public transportation information:
You can get there by train or bus from Chubu Centrair International Airport.
🌱Schedule:
I usually ask for your help for about 6 hours a day (sometimes including household chores).
However, I am flexible. It depends on the project content and circumstances.
There are patterns such as helping for 5 days and then taking 2 days off, or
helping for 3 days and then taking 1 day off (for short stays).
Also, there may be times when I am absent for work or personal reasons. In that case, you may be asked to work on your day off or do tasks that can be done while I'm away.
Staying is possible when I am absent!
🌱Accommodation:
The kitchen and bathroom are shared.
🌱Meals:
I usually cook and eat together vegan or vegetarian meals (sometimes eat separately).
I provide the ingredients.
On days off, please prepare your own meals.
🌱What to Bring:
- Clothing necessary for activities at this facility.
I can provide detergent.
I ask that you refrain from using chemical detergents and toothpaste that harm the environment. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I can offer ideas on vegan cooking, as well as simple renovations using sustainable materials. I would also like to exchange ideas about renovations and learn about methods used in different countries. I can teach Japanese through conversation. If you want to learn Japanese, I can correct your Japanese and teach you the correct way to say things as we have many conversations.

Help
I'd like to paint the walls of my traditional Japanese house together, maintain bamboo groves to make firewood and charcoal.
I want to use as many donated items and natural materials as possible, and do environmentally friendly home improvements. -
