    Description

I am a single mother with two children living by the sea in Ireland. We have an amazing town and community with an abundance of community groups and clubs. Everything from sustainability groups to sailing and sea swimming.

My children are 8 (a little boy) and 4 (a little girl). Hugo is spirited and Martha is a free spirit.

We live in an apartment overlooking the sea a 50 minute train ride from the centre of Dublin.

I am looking for help with our home to make the most of our outdoor (and indoor) space

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I've lived and travelled all over the world and have always loved staying with people as the best way to really get to know a place. I can share lots of tips for travelling, living and working in dozens of countries and, especially, I have great knowledge of Ireland - most of it off the beaten tracks. Would especially suit surfers, wild swimmers and those that love the outdoors.

There are great groups to join in our town. There is drama, sea swimming, sustainability and every kind of sport.

I run my own business so can help people who are interested in that. I am also a self taught technical Founder so can help people get more confident with tech while, simultaneously being hungry to learn more so would also love to connect with those who can help me continue my learning.

  • Help

    Help

I'd love help most days with the home and outdoor space. I'm looking to do lots of small tasks. Some DIY. Some gardening related and some housekeeping.

We are a tidy family and that is very important. Anyone who struggles to keep theirs and shared spaces very clean wouldn't be a good fit. For anyone who appreciates clean and tidy then it would be a great fit.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We can offer a double bedroom with or without en suite.

The flat overlooks the sea and has a common sitting room and kitchen.

There will be breakfast each day with the children but breakfast can be eaten anytime with food in the house.

Lunch is an individual affair as the children are at school.

We can coordinate on a weekly shop to make sure there is always dinner for our workaway guest.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are really good train links into Dublin city centre and a good bus service locally.

Our town is coastal and an awful lot of the activities in the town revolve around the sea. Rowing, sailing, sea swimming, kayaking etc.

We have a kayak and there are lots of sea swimming groups. There are several coastal walks and a lovely castle and grounds that are always open to the public.

There is a great coffee shop culture in the town and it's very easy to meet people and join groups or clubs.

We have an incredible new library with lovely areas for working and it is really easy to meet people here. In fact, an American anthropologist called it the best place to live in the world a few years back for a few reasons among them the fact that people dress for the weather not to impress and that people do a lot of community work out of a sense of duty rather than ego.

That might give you a nice sense of the place. :-)
