Description
My name is Alphonse, but people know me as Kalpho. I’m a visual artist and art teacher, and I started an art center because I wanted to create a place where artists can meet, create, learn and share their work.
We work with emerging artists, organize exhibitions and creative activities, and give artists a space to show their work and connect with people. We also have free art activities for children from low-income families.
I’m interested in meeting people from different countries who love art, culture and creativity. I would like people who stay with us to experience Rwanda, learn about our culture and art, meet local artists, and also share something from their own culture and experience.
We are based in Kacyiru, Kigali, near the American Embassy. There are many places around Kigali to explore, and we would be happy to help you discover the city and experience Rwanda.
For me, this is about meeting people, sharing ideas and connecting through art and culture. Welcome to Rwanda! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I would like people who stay with us to experience Rwanda beyond just being a tourist. We can share our art, Rwandan culture, stories and everyday life with them. They can visit the gallery, meet local artists, learn about Rwandan art and join some of our creative activities.
We can also learn from them. I’m interested in hearing about their countries, cultures, art and experiences. If they have creative skills, they can share them with us too.
Sometimes we can explore Kigali together, visit local places, try Rwandan food and simply spend time talking and getting to know each other. For me, the important thing is to share, learn and make real connections. -
Help
We would like to meet people who enjoy art and are interested in experiencing Rwanda. You can help us with things like painting, taking photos and videos, social media, creative activities and preparing exhibitions.
If you have another creative skill, you can also share it with us. We also like learning from the people who visit us and hearing about their culture and experiences.
The main idea is to spend time together, share skills, make art and learn from each other. -

Can host digital nomads
Digital nomads are welcome. We understand that you may need time for your own online work, so we can arrange the daily activities around this when possible. You will have internet access and a comfortable place to work and stay. Families are also welcome. Before confirming a stay, we would like to know how many people are coming and who is included, for example parents with children or other family members. The accommodation and arrangements will depend on the number of people. We are happy to welcome different people, share our art and culture, and learn from each other.
