Description
Hello! I'm a young Scottish guy who's currently building a house in the French countryside. I live in an unfinished yet cozy 2 bedroom farmhouse that has 2 acres of field/jungle with various fruit and nut trees and a little veggie plot. My house is surrounded by fields, woodland and nearby lakes so if that's your thing then you're in luck! I'm a proud father to a dog and a cat (Marvin and Barnaby) who are both demanding yet lovable creatures.
I'm currently working on a large renovation project in a nearby town which is taking up a lot of my time at the moment so for now I'm unfortunately resigned to a 9-5, for this reason i'm looking for somebody/a couple who are willing to look after Marvin while i'm gone, he's old and very easy to look after but due to a couple of little health problems it's important that he gets company and exercise through the day. There are always plenty of gardening/building jobs if you're motivated and want to learn a thing or two about construction however i'm also happy to host somebody that is looking for more of a house & animal sitting role. So yeah if you're looking for a relaxed stay, maybe you need to study, read/write a book or learn French and you also love dogs then i'd love to host you.
For the evenings and weekends i'm always happy to hang out, drink wine, eat tasty food, listen to music, go climbing and play video/board games. I'm 99% vegetarian but if you want to eat meat you can always pick some up when we go shopping. If you have any other preferences just let me know.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

It's an old farmhouse located in a very beautiful rural area with a few other houses and farms scattered nearby. The house is basic and can get hot and cold depending on the weather outside however we have wood burners and hot water bottles.
There are towns and villages nearby with popular beach lakes, plus it's a 30 minute drive to Limoges city centre so it is peaceful but easily escaped when necessary. Our house is very rural so don't expect to be able to walk to the shops/bar, we will take you out and about though and make sure you see a bit of the area.
The property consists of just over 2 acres of garden/field, a renovated ex sheepfold (which is now a bedroom/living area), the main house plus a ruin (which is currently half a wall). What else ...
During your stay i'll do my best to show you the area and make some wee visits to various places. It's a great area if you like photography and there are lots of places of historical significance (Limoges was home of the resistance during WW2), however if that's not your thing i'm equally happy to drink beer, listen to music and play board games. We go to the beach lakes almost every day (sometimes night) in the summer..
Safe travels guys! :)A little more information

Bobby is such a great host, he’s kind and laid-back, just gives you space to do things your own way and organize yourself as you want. There was many different jobs to do, and I never got bored one second, whether I felt like doing things inside or in… read more
The house is awesome, so it's fun to work there. We did some painting, gardening, stone-throwing, etc., all of it very enjoyable. The atmosphere in the house is so cozy and relaxed!
It was exciting to have a drink with Bobby and his sister (and 2 more volunteers!) and listen to their volunteering stories. And so cool… read more
