Description
-sortie ski, luge, rando, escalade, parapente, spéléo...

We are Nicolas and Coralie, and we have been living for five years on a small farm that had been abandoned for 28 years and was close to ruin. We are trying to bring it back to life with all our hearts!
Desired period: February-April
We are looking for a minimum of two weeks or more.
Required profile:
Someone who loves animals (dogs, sheep, goats) and is willing to help care for them if necessary.
Someone who is comfortable with nature, outdoors in freezing temperatures and in the rain. We have rain gear and cold-weather clothing to lend to volunteers.
Sleeping arrangements are in a caravan.
Someone willing to experience something different from their everyday life (pace of life, food, limited phone use).
If you don't have a vehicle, you will need to get around by bike, as we are located in the countryside and isolated.
We lend bikes.
Number of volunteers accepted at the same time: between 1 and 2
Examples of tasks to be performed:
- Storing wood for the winter
- Cooking evening meals
- Cleaning, washing up, tidying up
- Harvesting the delicious produce that nature offers us: apples, figs, chestnuts, walnuts, etc.
TAKING CARE OF THE 3 SHEEP AND 2 GOATS:
- Checking on them every day to make sure they are well.
- Feed them if necessary.
- Change their water every day.
- Give them cuddles because they love it.
LOOK AFTER THE 2 DOGS:
- Feed them morning and evening.
- Take them out for at least 2 walks a day of 30 minutes each.
- Make sure they have fresh water at all times.
Animal enclosure care:
- Collect naturally fallen dead wood.
- Weed the garden and orchard.
If you wish, you can accompany Cora to her school:
- Play board games with the students, do sports, read, paint, laminate materials, and prepare labels.
We live in a shared house with the volunteers, which includes:
- Free access to the house and daily life together
- Outings: skiing, sledding, hiking, climbing, paragliding, caving...
- Outings with friends, evenings out, concerts, theater
Stack firewood, weed a garden, spread manure, and empty the composting toilet may seem repetitive and boring. There are many thankless and repetitive tasks on a farm. We spend a lot of our time doing these kinds of tasks.
Unless otherwise specified and/or agreed upon beforehand, you will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the farm (public transport, hitchhiking, etc.). If your luggage is too heavy, please ensure you make your own arrangements. Depending on our schedule, we regularly pass by a train station, so if it fits with our timetable, we may be able to pick you up and drop you off there. If you need to leave early on your own initiative, you must make your own arrangements to leave the farm without disrupting the group's organization, and we will not be obligated to drop you off.
You will not participate in any commercial activities.
There will, of course, be plenty of enjoyable moments for relaxation, sports, and sharing. However, the realities of daily life can sometimes be surprising in their challenges. If you feel ready to take on this challenge and experience it, please don't hesitate to ask any questions. We look forward to sharing a part of our lives with you.

Accommodation
We have 2 caravans available for volunteers.
There is also the possibility to pitch your tent.
If you have a van, you are welcome to use it.
The house is very old and the comfort is relative, it is a farmhouse atmosphere!
WE ONLY HAVE DRY TOILETT !
You should not expect a star hotel!
The place is very quiet and you can meditate by the stream and take a nap in the grass when it is too hot to work.
We share our small house with the volunteers and live in a shared house.
There is a common kitchen for all of us.
You will of course have access to the bathroom and the outhouse.
