Description
This summer we have a a couple different sorts of opportunities for Workaway guests.
Opportunity #1: This opportunity is available to any Workawayers who happen to be in the area, whether you live here or are traveling)
On Sunday. August 9, our community group, Sunday Assembly (a NON religious group) will be hosting a talk about Workaway, My wife and I will talk about our years of experience hosting Workaway guests, and two of our guests will talk about theirs.
We also do sing-alongs, so we would LOVE to have guests who play instruments and could lead us in a couple well-known pop/rock/folk songs.
After the program, there will be a potluck lunch, and that's where you can interact with people and talk about your experience traveling with Workaway. Or, if you have not yet had your first Workaway adventure, come to connect with experienced guests and hosts.
Opportunity #2-
August 22-September 4
Projects! We've got lots of projects we need help with. Tidying up the yard. Painting. Cleaning out closets. Some deep cleaning in parts of the house that haven't been cleaned in a while. Lots of small projects that don't require any particular skills. Maybe some help building a website and navigating social media. Come stay and explore the area in your free time while helping us get through our list of things to be done. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Share your experiences with other guests and potential hosts. Eat meals with us. You will have plenty of time to relax and explore the beautiful Santa Cruz area. Our home is 1.7 miles from the beach and about 3 miles from downtown Santa Cruz, with a vibrant downtown culture. There are also lots of state parks and other beautiful natural areas to explore.

We could not have been luckier. They welcomed us warmly, invited us to spend time with them and their friends. We exchanged recipes and meals, croissants, magrets de canard, ribs, crêpes, cinamon rolls, and so on...
