    Description

    We are a family living in Volissos, in the northwestern part of the island of Chios, Greece.

    Following the devastating wildfire of August 2025, which almost completely destroyed our olive groves, leaving behind burnt tree trunks and branches, we are now looking for volunteers to help us clear the land and plant new olive trees. Our goal is to restore our groves and once again produce the olive oil our family depends on for its everyday needs, as we did until last year.

    We are looking for volunteers who are willing to work alongside us and share in this meaningful effort.

    In return, we offer **fully equipped accommodation, one meal a day, and a full coffee break at the worksite.**

    We would be delighted to welcome people who love and care for nature and understand how important it is to us to bring back to life the environment that the wildfire destroyed.

    We are a warm and hospitable family, and we love sharing our home and our time with people who are enthusiastic, hardworking, and full of positive energy.

    First of all, you will travel to a large island in Greece, which is not known for the entertainment of tourists, but mainly for gaining experiences and knowledge about its history, culture, traditions and lifestyle of the inhabitants. For those interested there are many historical monuments, also special local cuisine. The history and cultivation of mastic (visit Museum for Mastic) and also of the famous Chios wine (visit winery). Also, those who love hiking can enjoy exploration of some traditional paths around the area. On the other hand, we also want to know about life in the countries where the volunteers come from, their customs and daily habits (their food, their jobs, their history, their music).
