Description
My wife and I bought a small farm near Fulufjellet National Park in Norway in 2021.
Since we bought the small farm, we have slowly but surely renovated parts of the small farm.
The next project is to renovate and paint the barn.Types of help and learning opportunities
DIY and building projectsGeneral MaintenanceCultural exchange and learning opportunities
The Workawayers will gain an insight into both local culture and various traditions such as, for example:
-Norwegian food
- Understanding Care and felling of forests with the aim of exploiting them economically. Norway is a well-forested area, and about a fifth of the country is considered productive forest - i.e. forest that can be managed with a view to commercial activities.
The cultural exchange can take place, for example, during joint meals where my wife and I participate. We also tend to have friends visit who will also contribute to the cultural exchange.
In a similar way, the cultural exchange can take place on joint excursions and mountain trips.
I also believe that the craftsmen can contribute by exchanging experiences, and that through this we can also learn from the visitors.Projects involving children

My wife and I bought a small farm near Fulufjellet National Park in Norway in 2021.
Since we bought the small farm, we have slowly but surely renovated parts of the small farm.
The next project is to renovate and paint the barn.
In that connection, it would have been desirable to get in touch with 2 carpenters who want to help in the summer of 2024 for 2 - 3 weeks free of charge with renovation and painting in return for free accommodation including food.
It will be important to us that the volunteers have a pleasant stay with us this summer.
This means, among other things, trips in Fulufjellet National Park.
Hope that there are some Workawayers who allow themselves to be tempted by the offer. We believe that this can be a pleasant project.Languages

The Workawayers will spend the night in their own cabins. We have several cabins that may be relevant:
-Accommodation in a cabin that was built in 1721. The cabin is one of Norway's oldest that is in commercial rental. The cabin has no shower or toilet. There is an outdoor area in the immediate vicinity of the cabin.
Another option is accommodation in cabins located approximately 6 km from the small farm. These cabins have both a shower and a toilet.
Dining will take place in a combination of communal meals and meals prepared in the cabin used for accommodation. What else ...
There will be good opportunities for, for example, the following leisure activities:
- Mountain tours
-Forest walks
-Fishing
-Bathing in mountain lakes and rivers.A little more information
