    Hello there!

We are Benjamin and Dorien, a married couple living in Kalmthout. We both work full-time. Dorien is a dispatcher for the justice system in Antwerp, and I am an aviation meteorologist working in Brussels and Antwerp.

My hobbies include going on motorcycle weekends in the mountains and having barbecues with friends. Dorien enjoys training for marathons and binge-watching true crime documentaries on Netflix. We both love going on hiking holidays, especially in Canada. This year, however, we will be travelling to Romania with our little campervan from Thursday, 27 August until 27 September.

If this period doesn’t fully match your plans, don’t worry—we can arrange for family members living nearby to feed the cats for a couple of days if needed.

If you’re interested or have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Our cosy home is located in the north of Belgium, surrounded by woods. We own a house with a lovely garden, just across the street (300 meters) from Grenspark Kalmthoutse Heide, where you can enjoy peaceful, relaxing walks. The train station is only a short 10-minute walk away and offers a fast connection to Antwerp city centre.

    Who needs pet-sitting?

    Zander:
Your classic ginger cat who is always up to no good! This affectionate little terrorist is eight years old and the nightmare of many birds in our neighbourhood. You’ll often find him somewhere in the garden or on the roof of the house (how he gets up there, we still don’t know!). When you get home, he’ll greet you with a long meow as if he hasn’t had any affection in years. His favourite activities include making biscuits on your lap, lounging on cars, “cleaning” the shower after you’ve used it, and always wanting to be on the other side of a closed door.

    Ziggy:
The typical “stay indoors and look out the window” cat. Ziggy is 10 years old and a beautiful grey cat who absolutely loves his wet food! You’ll often catch him sneaking food from Zander’s bowl after finishing his own (he is very food-motivated). His favourite activities include sleeping on his cat pillow, helping you untie your shoes, and keeping watch while you’re in the shower or on the toilet.
While Zander is very affectionate with everyone from day one, Ziggy takes a bit more time to build trust. He can be easily overstimulated, so it’s best to let him come to you and gently interact at his own pace.

    What do we need?
We are looking for someone—or a couple without children—who loves cats and will give our two boys the care and affection they deserve while we are away.

The tasks are simple, as both cats are healthy and easy to care for:
    • Make sure they always have dry food and fresh water
    • Empty the litter boxes
    • Bring the cats inside at night (they have a cat flap for daytime access)
    • Play with them
    • Give wet food twice a day
