Description
Welcome to Tollå in the beautiful valley of Beiarn, Northern Norway! Our property is surrounded by wild, arctic nature, offering incredible opportunities for outdoor life, mountain hiking, self-reliance projects, and high-north homesteading.
**The Pack:**
We have two active working-line Border Collies—Feynman and Birkeland—who are currently being trained for Search and Rescue (SAR). They are a central part of daily life here. **Real, practical experience with dogs and dog training is required**, as you will be interacting with high-energy working dogs on a daily basis.
**What we are looking for:**
We are seeking independent, practical, and self-motivated workaways who enjoy hands-on work and taking initiative. Current and upcoming projects include:
* **DIY & Hardware Projects:** Hands-on carpentry, building maintenance, timber/firewood processing, and technical setups like **heat-extraction systems from crypto-mining hardware**.
* **Media & YouTube:** Assisting with filming, editing, and expanding our YouTube channels documenting our projects, outdoor adventures, and self-reliance setups.
* **Property & Dog Care:** Assisting with daily outdoor routines and taking the dogs out in nature.
We value proactive people who naturally see what needs to be done and take pride in their work. Prior experience with tools, woodworking, media production, or homesteading projects is a big plus.
**Remote Workers & Paid Work:**
We welcome digital nomads! If you have your own digital income source or are looking to secure seasonal/paid work in the area, our setup offers a great base with good space and internet access to manage your own work alongside helping out here.
**What we offer:**
* Accommodation in a stunning northern location surrounded by mountains, rivers, and wilderness.
* Access to outdoor gear, fatbikes, and a canoe to explore the region on your days off.
* An authentic high-north lifestyle centered on technical mastery, self-reliance, and nature.
**Practicalities:**
You should be comfortable in the outdoors and bring appropriate seasonal hiking/outdoor gear for arctic conditions. We always conduct a video call prior to confirming any stay to get to know each other and align expectations.
The house is a work in progress, but fully livable even though there are still a ton of work to do. You will ofcourse get your own room, and privacy will be respected. The schedule will be agreed upon, since it will depend on when I work, need dogcare and of course when you have plans or want to do something.
But I must underline that I don't have time or resourches to guide people or teach them dogwork or outdoor skills. -

Help
I live in a house for 1977 that have been through severeal refurbishing projects. I now working on drainage before the winter sets in, and getting the garage isolated
Dogwork -> they are beeing trained to becomse SAR dogs, hence workawayers must be competent in dog handling and training. Having owned a dog, is not enough experience.
The dream is to make the house as self reliant as possible, and don't be to dependent on the grid. Hence Starlink connectin, starting work on crypto mining heating, waterborn heat from firewood etc........
I also have a Mercedes Sprinter W906 that I'm trying to build into a camper as a plan to create a nomad community.
There is some IT structure here a desktop with DaVinci Studio, 9 TB NAS, printer on the network, Home Assistant Running on Virtual Box etc. Also have some camera equipment and a smal drone (DJI NEO) and mobile PodCast recorder with wireless microphones. I will accept people working on their own social media as part of their stay here. -

We finally got fiber here, so Internett accessoirer is quite good. Also have a quite powerfull computer with huge screens. DaVinci Speed editor and Røde Studio Mic. If you want to edit movies for my infant YouTube channel that would be awesome.
-
Space for parking camper vans
Its not the best space here now, but as soon as there garage is erected there will be plenty with space. The house is a bit chaotic in preparation for the garage build, so would be awesome with some help to get organized.
