    Description

We live in the beautiful Eco village of 169 hectares on Waiheke Island. The village is a 31 year old community that is home to 15 families of all ages. The village is a 25min drive from Matiatia where the passenger Ferry arrives and 10 minutes drive from stunning Onetangi Beach. We have a modest house surrounded by the valley, trees, vegetable gardens and ponds.

Waiheke Island is gorgeous place, population around 9400 people. We are 35min boat ride from downtown Auckland. Waiheke Island is reknown for its beautiful beaches, vineyards, restaurants and vibrant art & music community.

I live with my 20yr old son & my daughter starts university this year.

We eat mostly organic or locally sourced food. I love cooking wholesome food with fresh ingredients.

I have travelled a lot and enjoy hosting travellers. As a single mum & busy business owner, its great to have some extra help to keep on top of things. It is also nice for my young adults to meet people from other countries with other cultures and languages.

I have a lovely sleepout/room in the garden, 20m from the house, with a double bed and valley views. While the kitchen, bathroom etc is in the main house. We have Starlink wifi in the house. 2 x Kayaks & an electric bike you can use, plus a spa pool next to the house.

Work will involve gardening, cleaning and cooking etc and sometimes the opportunity to get involved in our intentional community activities. Note we are not on the bus route and the village is a little isolated from the rest of the island. Check it out on the map first. I'm happy to collect & drop back to the Matiatia ferry terminal.

I travel into the central part of the Island regularly for work. I own a garden maintenance & pest control business.

I look forward to hosting outgoing, hard working people interested in the environment. We are partially off grid with composting toilet, solar panels, wood burning fireplace with wet back heating, rain water and worm farm for Composting.

My current needs are processing fire wood eg splitting & stacking. physical tasks. Although will be mix with other tasks each day, so manageable.

    Best wishes
    Dawn

A cozy, small yellow house with a circular window sits on a grassy hill. Surrounded by trees and plants, it has a wooden porch and benches.
A vibrant salad with mixed greens, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, red onions, roasted almonds, kidney beans, quinoa, and sliced boiled eggs, beautifully presented on an orange platter.
A turquoise door with frosted panes, framed by rustic wood. Pink flowering vine climbs beside it. Worn sandals and a “welcome” mat complete the entry.

Lush green forested hills under a bright blue sky with fluffy clouds, viewed from a rooftop with a corrugated metal surface in the foreground. Peaceful scenery.
