  • Description

We live in a beautiful Eco village of 269 hectares on Waiheke Island. The village is a 25 year old community that is home to 15 families of all ages. The village is a 25min drive from Matiatia where the passenger Ferry arrives and 10 minutes drive from stunning Onetangi Beach. We have a modest house surrounded by the valley, trees, vegetable gardens and ponds.

Waiheke Island is gorgeous place, population around 8000 people. We are 35min boat ride from downtown Auckland. NZD$32.00 return. Waiheke Island is reknown for its beautiful beaches, vineyards, restaurants and the Art & music community.

I live here with my two teenagers.

We eat mostly Organic or locally sourced food. We love cooking wholesome food with fresh ingredients.

I am very busy with my work, the children and keeping the home and garden. I have travelled alot and enjoy hosting travelers. It is great to have some extra help to keep on top of things. It is also nice for the children to meet people from other countries with other cultures and languages.

I have a lovely caravan in our garden with double bed, wardrobe and table & chairs for you to stay in while kitchen, bathroom etc in the main house. Power & Free internet included.

Work would involve small building projects, sanding (preparing wood for painting) gardening, cleaning, cooking and fun with the teens. Note we are not on the bus route and the village is a little isolated from the rest of the island. Check it out on the map first.

I travel into the main part of the Island most weekdays for work and to take the children to school, so you could work a few 8 hour days in exchange for some full free days and get a ride with me.

I look forward to hosting outgoing, hard working people interested in the environment.
