    Description

We’re a Dutch family living in Spain, surrounded by our dogs, chickens, and sunshine. We own a charming old hotel in the picturesque hamlet of Las Mellizas (Álora), just a stone’s throw from the famous Caminito del Rey and El Chorro.

Our property is nestled in the enchanting Andalusian countryside, where rugged mountains meet lush orchards full of citrus and olive trees.

This place is our dream — and every corner reflects the love we have for this magical region. We’d love for you to come share in it.

Far from the hustle and bustle of city life, you'll find peace and inspiration here. Picture this: golden hour light bathing the mountains in pink and amber, the scent of oranges in the air, and the gentle rhythm of life on the campo.

We’re currently welcoming volunteers who’d like to join us in day-to-day life on the finca — helping with creative and practical projects such as light painting, gardening, decorating, or assisting in small repairs alongside us or local craftsmen. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and experience authentic Andalusian country life.

You’ll also be part of maintaining and enjoying our large Mediterranean garden — helping with watering, pruning, planting vegetables, or gathering fruit depending on the season. We love exchanging ideas about sustainable gardening and local traditions, and there’s always something new to learn from one another.

There’s plenty of time to explore too: hike or climb in the world-famous El Chorro, visit Málaga and its vibrant cultural scene, or relax on the beaches of the Costa del Sol — all within easy reach.

In exchange, we offer a private bedroom with your own bathroom, good food, and a place to truly connect with nature (and with us).

Curious? Excited? Send us a message — we’d love to hear from you and welcome you into our little Andalusian adventure.

We’re slowly bringing our old house back to life and love having volunteers who enjoy being part of that process — giving a hand with painting, decorating, light DIY, or helping our local builders from time to time. There’s also plenty to do outside, from watering and weeding to harvesting in the vegetable garden.

    My animals / pets

We have five chickens who kindly give us fresh eggs in exchange for food, water, and the occasional toy.

    Poppy

Poppy is a stray cat — though she certainly doesn’t see herself that way. She chose our casita as her home, and now she lives there as if she’s always owned the place.

    Jolly (3 years)

We found him as a really sick puppy on the street. He turned out to be a great dog. Really sweet, he loves to cuddle and to play.

    John

We got this dog with the house — he’s a big sweetheart, but a bit shy around new people. He won’t come close at first, but once he gets used to you, he’ll happily keep you company from a distance.
