    Description

    Hi!
Unfortunately we are not accepting helpers this year. We're in the process of becoming foster parents and right now we aren't allowed to have travelers in our home.
Good luck with your adventure :)

We have approx 150 free range chickens, 8 geese, 15 ducks, 6 guinea fowl and 7 rabbits. During the summer we also raise meatking chickens, turkeys and pigs. We plan on expanding to grow heritage breed meat birds as well as duel purpose birds. We also plan on raising quail and anything else our customers request.
Janet and I are fun and adventurous and we're trying to change the world one person at a time. We enjoy positive attitudes.
We are a bit remote, but we do have cell phone reception and internet. We're 20 minutes from a large shopping center.
Sights to see around here would include:Prince Edward Island, The Confederation bridge(15 min drive), Sackville waterfowl Park(20 min drive), light houses and beaches.
Also, we are smokers and smoke in the house. With the warm weather we would be more than happy to smoke outside to accommodate nonsmokers :)

Our helpers tasks would include: weeding the garden, gathering eggs, helping us build new structures as well as maintaining existing infrastructure, and swimming in the pool on hot summer days and enjoying roasting marshmallows over a campfire in the evening. Fall season duties would include helping us butcher our poultry and harvesting the garden, demolition and getting ready for winter.

    Accommodation

We have a 2 room bunk house, which offers a single bunk and a double bed in each room. Nothing fancy. There's a tv, DVDs, books and games. No internet in the bunk house yet, but we're working on it. It's separate sleeping quarters but guests are welcome to hang out in the house all the time; and will eat and shower in the main house.

This is our fifth year with workaway and we hope it is as exciting as last year!
We're very easy going, hard workers. We're hoping to have up beat, funny and easy going, open minded volunteers.
