    Description

    Hello! I'm Xavi,
I live with Núvol (cuttest cat) and Anji (beautiful person) in a little plot of land in the country side of Empordà in the north of Catalonia ( the chickens in the pictures are no longer with us).

Anji is away for some weeks, so I have a small window to host someone at the beginning-mid April.

I love this space for its tranquility and because it allows me to play and experiment with all types of things.

I currently need a lot of focus on my work ( I work at the intersection of language/communication and decentralized/P2P technologies ) , so every now and then I need some support to keep the space in good shape and advance some of its projects.

The place is off grid and runs on solar panels, wood stoves and gas. It has running water.

It is an ideal space for anyone who wants time with oneself (reading, writing, doing art, running, doing nothing...) and be connected with nature.

The plot has many spaces and it has forests and fields all around. Its 3 min away from a pintoresc medieval village, 5 min away from a town with all the basic stuff, and 20min away from the Mediterranean coast (by car)

It may take me a couple of days to reply, but I will :)

I'm looking forward to learning anything you can bring. I'm particularly interested in bio-construction, permaculture, syntropic agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, hydroponics, composting, ceramics (and any artistic technique)... or just your life experiences ;)

I'm well traveled, and I spend most of my time tinkering, thinking and designing systems. I have a wide range of interests which I have explored in various extends: self reliance, van life, nonviolent communication, nutrition, programming, decentralised tech, meditation, yoga, barefoot running, psychedelics, chickens, bees, mushrooms... And in general I just love to make inventions, experiment and have conversations about the human nature and controversial ideas ^^)

I want this place to be about simple life, contact with nature, experimentation, self-expression, self-reliance, learning, and care among the ones making use of it ^^

If any of this resonates with you... we will enjoy the time with each other :)

    Help

I need some help every now and then in order to maintain the space.

The amount of work is usually for 2 to 3 weeks, for one person only and for about 4 hours a day during the week.
I'll be joining you for about half of the time, as I have other stuff to take care.

I've been traveling a lot lately and the space is in urge for maintenance as nature takes over fast
    - Pruning trees, clearing bushes and weeds...
    - Cutting some dead trees and branches and chopping them to dry for next year.
    - Organizing material and cleaning garage and workshop
    - Finish a wooden deck
    - Make some walls for the shower

I'm always playing with many ideas, so if you want to explore something in particular I'll be happy to join the exploration.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will have a room (Anji's) all for you. Its big and has a fireplace.
The shower is outside and quite exposed currently.
I currently sleep in the van

The space has running water, an outdoor shower (now with hot water ! :D ) and a dry toilette.

I'm experimenting all the time with my food and sleep and schedules, I currently wake up around 5 and go to sleep at 20:30, I only eat meat and my last meal is around 15:00.
I'll be pleased if you want to join me on my routines by I don't expect you to do so. You will have to cook your own meals and I'm happy to purchase whatever you would like to cook for yourself and find other moments to share.

    What else ...

The area is very beautiful, full of medieval villages that you could explore by bike or car. The nearby town is well known for its ceramics and garden-vintage shops.
You can also go to Girona (35 min away) by bus, or to the sea (20 min away).

I work digitally. You are more than welcomed to do so. Just be aware that the connection is not very stable and is metered. Long video-conference calls and videos will have to be limited to prevent running out of internet.
