Description
We are family of 5 who have recently moved to a 25 acre farm. Our dream is to one day make it entirely sustainable - we’re guided by permaculture principles. We’re all veggie, predominately plant based. We have many animals - 5 horses, 2 bottle fed calves, 2 cows, 12 goats, 3 dogs and bees. Most are rescues and all are pets - not stock. I’m learning natural horsemanship and loving it. All of this is new to us - so we are on a steep learning curve and could use some help! Our kids are 9, 14 and 17 years.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We’re and English/ Sri Lankan/ Australian family and you will learn family life on small property one hour outside of the CBD. You’ll be exposed to plenty of animals, power tools, bees, a ATV, veggie cooking etc
Help
There is so much to do and learn here - there are always animals to tend to, plants to plant, veggie patches to build, an orchard to maintain, weeds to get rid of, wood to chop, manure to spread, food to cook, a chook house to build, laughter to be had, music to make.
If you have experience in organic / regenerative farming, beekeeping, we should love that. Knowledge of horses, but specifically natural horsemanship would be wonderful - and theres plenty of horses to work with. Vegan cooking is a plus and if you I can play the fiddle, piano or guitar you I will have a playing buddy!Languages

Our children learn French and German and would be keen for conversation to practiceAccommodation
You’re accomodation is in a converted bus. It has a kitchenette inside and a toilet across the driveway. There is always food in the pantry to help yourself to, family meals to join, and sometimes help with cooking would be appreciated - we are veggie and mostly vegan.
What else ...
We’re situated in the beautiful Dandenong ranges, a tourist destination in itself, due primarily to the beauty of this place. There are so many walks, trail rides, cafes, boutique shops. It’s an alternative community and we love it! Public transport is there, but slow so you will have access to a car as much as possible
