For over 17 years, we have offered some of the best eco tours in Panama. Our unique lodging, the only houseboat in the Panama Canal, allows us to offer a unique way of experiencing the Canal. Our guests consistently describe our day tours as one of the highlights of their visit to Panama.
Captain Carl first traveled to Panama as a young Marine with the US military, where he trained in the jungles near the north entrance to the Canal at the Fort Sherman Army base. He had no way of knowing that, 17 years later, he would be living and working in this special region of the world. F
For 17 years now, we have developed tours that showcase the Panama Canal and the surrounding jungle. Our home is the only floating Lodge that has every existed on the Panama Canal. We look forward to sharing my unique experiences with others that travel to the Isthmus of Panama.

What you learn here in Panama can benefit you in your travels. You can greatly improve your Spanish skills if you need improving.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
We are looking for outdoor type people who are physically fit and have a passion for nature. You will learn about the history, canal operation, tropical flora and fauna. This will allow you to guide our tour boats and lead activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding.
Guides shares rooms that have private baths. You will dine with the guests. We have cooks that prepare all meals. Guides do assist in the serving of meals and tending the bar. You will meet people from all over the world. It does help to have a working knowledge of Spanish (in addition to being fluent in English) to be able to work with our local staff.
Work hours vary depending of the number of guides and guests. We pay a variable allowance based on activities conducted during the week. You get two days off per week and can go to Panama city or explore other regions of Panama.
We require at least a three month commitment to join our team.
All workawayers would be lodged on the houseboat. The offer includes all meals as well.
Our houseboat is a floating lodge, the only one that has ever existed in the Panama Canal. We are rated as one of the top experiences in Panama. Our volunteers would be living in the same houseboat and enjoying the same incredible experience.
The Lodge is in the middle of Lake Gatun, Panama Canal. We use fast motor boats to get around. We are in the jungle but civilization is not that far away, should you ever require it.
By volunteering with us, you will be able to practice your Spanish skills with our Staff and develop a whole other set of skills that you will use for a lifetime: customer service, resourcefulness, management, etc.
