Description
An old farmstead in western Finland, in the countryside near the town Kankaanpää. The purpose to join workaway as a host is to improve my french skills in talking and understanding.
We have a familyfarm, an old cozy relaxed farmhouse, guest bedrooms upstairs. In the garden there is a greenhouse and a sauna by the river. We took over the farmstead after retiring. Living in the countryside and farming is our lifestyle and hobby. The farm produces oats and cummin. My husband takes care of the work in the forests and fields together with the neighbours. The workawayer will not take part in the agriculture. We have a kind dog and two cats. I like cooking and baking, needlework, working in the garden and learning languages, now french. We could have help indoors and outdoors, in the household and garden. We have grown up children and grandchildren who visit us every now and then. Join our daily countrylife as a family member. We speak English, German and some French.

We will take the workawayer to weekly summer markets in the nearby town, to some cultural events, lakes and natural park are in the area.
We are looking forward to lively discussions about life and cultures by a delicious meal. We have lived and travelled to several countries during our work careers. Now we hope to give some hospitality to someone who wants to learn about Finnish lifestyle in the countryside.

I have worked all my life as a language teacher (German, English, Swedish) and can teach them. Now retired, I have learned french for 2-3 years. I need speaking and listening practice.
Accommodation
The house is old, but has all comforts. There are two bedrooms upstairs, a single and a double. Downstairs two toilets, bath, sauna. There is a separate sauna by the river. I like cooking and baking. We eat only homemade food, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee and dinner.
What else ...
The farm is surrounded by forests and fields. There are bikes. We can pick you up from Tampere or Pori, these are the nearest railway stations. We don’t smoke.
