  Responsibilities:
  
  Guest Reception & Check-in/Check-out: Greet guests upon arrival, check them in and out, and provide information about the hostel and surrounding area (surf spots, restaurants, etc.).
  Social Engagement: Organize social events, activities, and hangouts to create a fun, community vibe. Help guests connect, share surf tips, and plan group outings or surf trips.
  Guest Support: Answer questions, address requests, and ensure that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Handle any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  General Administration: Assist with bookings, managing room availability, and taking payments. Ensure smooth operations of the front desk and hostel common areas.
  Surf Culture Promotion: Share your knowledge and love of surfing! Help guests with surf-related info, whether it’s recommending surf spots, arranging board rentals, or offering tips.
  Housekeeping Assistance: Support with light housekeeping tasks, ensuring the hostel remains clean, tidy, and welcoming.

  Midigama is known for its world-class surf spots. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or a beginner, you’ll find waves to suit your skill level. We offer surfboard rentals and can even help arrange surf lessons if you’re looking to improve your skills.
  
  Beach Days & Relaxation:
  Enjoy the beautiful beaches around Midigama, like Lazy Left, Rams, and Weligama Bay, perfect for chilling out, swimming, or sunset strolls. Bring a book, enjoy the sun, or just take in the stunning views.
  
  Explore the Local Area:
  You can rent a scooter or bike to explore nearby areas like Mirissa, Turtle Beach, or Koggala Lake. There are also plenty of cafés, restaurants, and shops where you can try local delicacies, like fresh seafood or Sri Lankan curry.

  Several yoga studios around the area offer drop-in classes if you want to unwind and recharge.
  
  Nature and Wildlife:

  Public buses and tuk-tuks are readily available in Midigama, and they’re an affordable way to get around. Buses connect you to larger towns like Matara and Weligama. Tuk-tuks can be used for shorter trips to nearby attractions.

  For greater freedom, we recommend renting a bicycle or scooter, which will give you easy access to nearby surf spots, beaches, and attractions. You can rent these locally, and it’s a fun way to explore at your own pace.

  We value a peaceful and respectful atmosphere here and Food. Our hostel operates as a social space, so we encourage all guests and volunteers to be considerate of each other’s needs, especially in shared dorm rooms. Quiet hours are typically from 10:00 PM onward.

  We ask that everyone pitches in to keep the hostel clean and tidy. Each volunteer is expected to maintain cleanliness in their personal space and help with light housekeeping duties as needed.
