    Description

I am looking for someone to keep my boy, Molo, company while we are away for two and a half months (19th feb to 29th April)

The house is a cosy cottage in Merthyr Tydfil with a lovely garden. It is very well located for those wishing to visit the Brecon Beacons, Bike Park Wales, Waterfall Country of Neath, and Merthyr Tydfil itself which has a rich heritage history. I have previously put together a document for sitters with links & pins to nearby walks and places to explore, I would be happy to share this with you!.

Molo is a 9 year old mixed-breed, medium sized dog. He would enjoy a walk each day, but once a week he has a dog walker who takes him. Outside of this walk, he is an incredibly lazy potato and will sleep the majority of the remainder of the day - besides waking up for his dinner.

During the summer, in good weather (and quite often even in bad weather!) he generally lies outside from the moment you wake up until you call him in when it’s time to go to bed. In really bad weather, he will sleep the day away inside. He is very easy to have around at home. Equally, if you are a keen walker he would be thrilled to join you on any adventures.

any questions feel free to ask! :)

    The area:

The house is extremely well located. It's well connected yet feels rural and villagy, and sits in a friendly, quiet, safe, small street. Merthyr itself is at the heart of the South Wales Valleys and has a rich ex-industrial heritage. We are on the outskirts of the National Park.

Nearby: Immediately from the house there is wonderful forestry for walking.
Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) is just a 7 minute drive away. Within 10-15 minutes there are a number of stunning lakes and mountain walks (the Hilltop picture and lake pictures uploaded are from walks a 10 minutes drive away)
Bike Park Wales: is two miles away for those who enjoy biking. Waterfall Country is a 25 minute drive away, where you can visit many beautiful waterfalls. There are also a good number of more local, off the beaten path waterfalls. Merthyr Tydfil itself is a few minutes away. In the town centre you can visit Cyfartha castle with its gallery, art hub, museum and gardens. Around the town are many trails and sites to visit relating to Merthyr’s industrial past. The Taff cycle/walking Trail which runs from Cardiff to the Brecon Beacons along the river Taff can also be reached within a 10 minutes walk or short cycle. Nearby towns of Abergavenny, Cardiff, Brecon Town and the Big Pit Museum in Blaenavon are 30-40 minutes away.

Amenities: There is a retail park with many shops and gym a 5 minute walk away. There a number of larger supermarkets within the town centre. In town you can find a number of restaurants and shops and a train station. From the retail park you can take a bus into the Brecon Beacons for exploring.

    Accommodation

The house is a one-bedroom cottage with a lovely, private garden and space for parking 2 cars. Downstairs is the bathroom, kitchen, living room and sewing studio. Upstairs is the bedroom and an adjoining office which also has a treadmill. You are more than welcome to use all of these during your stay.

The house is cosy, private and quiet. It is also old and ‘cottagy’, anyone wishing to visit should be aware that the stairs are very steep, narrow and crooked and unlikely to be suitable for young children or anyone with limited mobility. The house will be fully cleaned prior to your arrival, but please bear in mind it is an old cottage rather than a polished-new build😊

There is off-road parking in the garden. I also have a van (Transit) which fits well enough, but a motorhome would be too wide to fit through the gates. Can fit up to a LWB.
