Description
August 8 to September 8, 2026
We are Nancy and Glenn. We live with our sweet dog Willy in South Minneapolis in a four bedroom home. Glenn is a first grade teacher in Minneapolis Public schools and I’m a retired organization development consultant. We love the outdoors and hike as much as we can. Minneapolis is an awesome place to visit because of all the art, nature, social justice, and theater opportunities. There are many lakes and bicycle paths as well as off the beaten path and unusual places to check out.
We are making our annual summer trek eastward to see family and friends in Upstate NY. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Minneapolis has many museums and other places of interest to art enthusiasts! We have a Swedish museum, several art museums, history museums, and other places of cultural interest, including those central to the Black Lives Matter and immigrant justice movement.

Help
We are looking for a couple, or two to three friends or siblings to stay in our home while we are away for 4-5 weeks to complete tasks like painting, staining, mowing, cleaning, and other small & easy fix-it tasks! We will be home for 2 days to show you the tasks to be done before we leave. You can complete them on your own schedule and assume it would take you about 3 hours a day, five days a week. We will provide all materials and tools needed for tasks. We are taking Willy with us so no dog sitting.

Many festivals occur in the summer as well as outdoor free activities, such as music and movies in the many city parks. George Floyd Square is a mile away and you can learn about this tragedy as well as the ICE related murders from local people. You will have full access to our kitchen where you can cook meals. We will leave you with a stocked pantry and fridge with your favorites foods. Then you will pay for food going forward. There’s a natural food store a half mile away.
