Come join us to get to know the Israeli desert!
The wonderful views and unique nature, the hidden pools and springs, the special people and the hidden treasures of this land!
We are Avishai & Ilana, a couple from Israel. In April 2018 we opened a guesthouse in the desert town of Yeruham. A quiet little town surrounded by amazing nature and views, a natural crater and a beautiful lake (not for swimming).
Yeruham has an interesting and unique culture, and a very special story to it.
Nearby are farms that make goat cheese and boutique wines, traditional Bedouin villages and some of Israels most amazing treks.
We love hosting, meeting people from around the world, getting to know their story and sharing ours. We are interested in hosting 2-4 volunteers, getting to know them and helping us out with taking care of the guesthouse.
We will try to find work that will suite your personality best, and help us build the house of our (and your!) dreams.
Volunteers are welcome for at least 2 weeks.

Yeruham is fascinating. it has a warm and welcoming community, and traditional Moroccan-Jewish culture and food. You will get to know the Israel back-country, and certainly something very different from anywhere else you've visited.
surrounding us are very traditional Bedouin villages and some interesting social projects, as well as the amazing Negev Desert. with its outstanding views and treks, pools and spring and natural wonders.
We are an hour drive away from The Dead Sea and Massada, an hour and a half from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
During your free time you can go hiking, biking or just hang around by the nearby lake, visit the surrounding towns and farms and go out for beer at one of the student bars in Be'er Sheva.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
Volunteers are first of all in charged of the atmosphere of the place.
We would like you to take guests to the nearby hill at sunset, to a picnic at the lake, a short hike or any other fun activity you think of.
Other than that, work consists of helping out with breakfast and some house chores such as laundry and cleaning, Helping us build our new garden, simple carpentry work, artwork and decoration of the guesthouse, cooking and cleaning or whatever else will be needed.
We are working on creating new collaborations with social organizations in Yeruham, for example a community garden that works with the nearby Bedouin community, a farm that works with youth at risk and so on...
Looking forward to seeing you!
Avishai & Ilana
You will get a bed in our dorm room, and weekly allowance that will be sufficient for making your own food and a little bit more.
During your time off you can travel the Negev Desert, take the day to go to the Dead Sea, mountain bike, trek, dive into springs and natural pools, volunteer with the Bedouin community, visit a nearby winery or just chill around the guesthouse.
