Description
We live in the beautiful and very rural region of the Wendland in Lower Saxony, Germany. We are surrounded by stunning nature and a large forest called the Göhrde. There is plenty of wildlife in the area, including deer, cranes, foxes, raccoons and even wolves. Horses are also a very common sight here.
My daughter and I live on a farm that provides a home for rescued horses. Our household includes a friendly cat, a wonderful young dog, and a horse. Our horse lives on another horse farm just seven minutes away by car.
I work as a social worker, supporting immigrants and refugees, and I am also a certified teacher of German as a foreign language. My daughter is eight years old and attends school in the neighboring village.
The people of the Wendland are quite special – friendly, helpful, open-minded, and a little alternative in the best sense of the word. Many visitors say that spending time here helps them slow down, relax, and reconnect with themselves.
We are sure you will love it here. And of course, our animals are wonderful too and will make your stay even more special! 😊

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
In the neighboring village, you will have the wonderful opportunity to take part in painting and pottery workshops at the amazing "Kreativraum."
In April and May, our region hosts the famous "Kulturelle Landpartie," a unique cultural festival featuring music, theatre, arts and crafts, exhibitions, and many special events spread throughout the area.
You are also welcome to join the local yoga group, which meets twice a week.
Help
At the moment, we are looking for someone who could stay for the month of July, and possibly the beginning of August.
We are looking for a responsible and animal-loving person (or a couple, or a mother with a child) to stay in our home and take care of our animals. This includes feeding our dog (and the cat) twice a day and taking him for two long, beautiful walks each day — about one hour in the morning and one in the afternoon or evening, he also loves running alongside a bicycle. — as well as cuddling and playing with him. He is almost three years old, a Labrador–Australian Shepherd mix.
As for our horse, it depends a bit on your experience, and we can talk about that in more detail.
In addition, the garden (including some vegetable plants) will need to be watered daily.
When we are at home, you will be part of our family. We can cook and eat together. If you are staying here as a petsitter, of course you will cook for yourself, but you are welcome to use all the food we have in the house.
(We love traveling ourselves. Last year we spent time in Tanzania and Zanzibar, and the year before we traveled around Asia while also doing Workaway experiences.)

I am a teacher of German as a foreign language, so I would be happy to help if you are interested in learning German. I would also love to improve my Spanish and English, and I am always interested in learning other languages as well. The same goes for my daughter – she is very curious and enjoys learning new things, including languages. 😊
Accommodation
You will stay in our old, cozy farmhouse 😊 We are still renovating, so it is not a fully modern or perfectly finished house yet, but rather quite rustic, simple and cozy!
We live on the ground floor. Upstairs, on the first floor, there is a mother and her 9-year-old son. They are originally from Ecuador, so if you'd like, you could even practice your Spanish with them :-).
And just so you know, our cat sometimes brings little “gifts” — in the form of mice (sometimes alive, sometimes not). I hope that is okay for you 😊
What else ...
You can also join yoga classes in the neighboring village.
There is a supermarket there as well.
Nearby, there are two great outdoor swimming pools, a beautiful lake (our dog absolutely loves the water), and of course the Elbe River.
We have two bicycles and a children's bike that you are welcome to use. If I am at home, we can also travel around together by car.
There is a bus stop right next to our house, making it easy to reach nearby towns such as Dannenberg and Uelzen. From there, you can take a train to larger cities like Lüneburg, Hanover, or Hamburg.

As Lina’s profile is currently offline and I am unable to leave a review there, I would like to take this opportunity to share my feedback here:
Lina is the best Workawayer one could possibly wish for. I can recommend her wholeheartedly and without the slightest hesitation!
With her radiant smile and warm, open personality, she immediately makes people feel comfortable around her. She looked after our house, garden, and especially our animals for three weeks while we were away. She was extremely reliable and took wonderful care of our horse, showing great knowledge, confidence, and understanding around horses. In fact, she helped out far more on the farm than we had ever expected. I received nothing but positive feedback from everyone who interacted with her during her stay.
She also took excellent care of our dog and cats, and every now and then we would receive a reassuring message letting us know that everything was going well. 😊
Before and after our trip, we spent some time together, and Lina was absolutely wonderful with my daughter. They had a great time together, and Lina even brought her gifts, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I honestly wish Lina could look after our home and animals every time we travel. We are still in touch today, which makes me very happy.
Thank you so much for everything, dear Lina. We wish you all the very best for the future! And as you know, you are always more than welcome in our home.
