Description
We’re an Anglo-Spanish family with two children and a home on the edge of Cangas de Onís, in beautiful Asturias in northern Spain. We enjoy nature, being outdoors and sharing good, wholesome food.
During your stay, you’ll be sharing the house with Laura and the children. We’re looking for someone friendly and independent to join us for around two months and help with everyday cooking, laundry and cleaning, giving Laura more time with the children alongside her work.
We hosted Workawayers for years when the children were younger and have lovely memories of those experiences. We’re looking forward to welcoming someone into our home again. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We’re a bilingual English-Spanish family, including our two children, who are 15 and 12, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to practise either language through everyday conversation.
We’ve enjoyed welcoming Workawayers into our home over the years, sharing meals, stories and learning about each other’s cultures. Having lived abroad ourselves, we know how valuable that exchange can be. We’ll be happy to help you get to know the area and discover life in this beautiful part of Asturias. -

Help
We’re looking for help with everyday household tasks, mainly preparing meals, laundry and cleaning. Someone who enjoys cooking, has experience keeping a home running and is happy to use their initiative would be a great fit. Your help will give Laura more time with the children and make the daily routine easier to manage whilst Steve is away.

Accommodation
We live in an old stone mountain house in a village just outside Cangas de Onís, and you’ll have your own bedroom.
It’s easy to walk or cycle into town, and we go in several times a day, so there are opportunities to get a lift too. From Cangas de Onís, direct buses connect to nearby towns and cities, including Oviedo. If you’re over 25, use of a car may also be possible by arrangement.
It’s a lovely base for enjoying village life and exploring the mountains and countryside of Asturias. -
What else ...
The highlight of the area is the truly world-class Picos de Europa National Park, with spectacular mountains and wonderful walking routes. There are also beautiful mountain villages and towns to explore—lovely places to discover local food, culture and everyday Asturian life. We’ll be happy to share our favourite places and suggestions for your time off.

We had a great time here at Steve and Laura´s home! They are the best hosts you can imagine, and Carmen and Sebi are really lovely children. I had a wonderful time in Wiltshire, at Laura and Steve beautiful and very cozy home! The task was very simple: helping the daily chores (cooking, cleaning, laundy...) so Laura (and Steve, of course!!) could spend and enjoy more time with their children.
