Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Our home offers a relaxed cultural exchange shaped by our background—we’re both New Zealanders who have been living in Australia for the past 16 years. This means our lifestyle is very Western, with a natural blend of both Australian and New Zealand culture.
You’ll experience a down-to-earth, family-oriented way of life, with a mix of Kiwi and Aussie traditions, food, and everyday rhythms. It’s a warm, practical environment where you’ll feel included as part of the family while enjoying the simplicity and beauty of country living. -

Help
You wouldn’t be expected to do everything alone—we’d be working together throughout the day. Tasks would be shared and include things like baking, cooking, cold-pressed juicing, taking the children for walks, light cleaning, some gardening, and simply being part of our day-to-day family life.
We’ve also run two businesses and are happy to share our knowledge and experience with you if that’s something you’re interested in, whether for your own future plans or general learning. -

Accommodation
Accommodation is in our brand new caravan, set just a short distance from the house, giving you your own private space to relax and unwind. It has a comfortable bed, its own bathroom, cooking facilities, and a TV—everything you need to feel at home while still enjoying your own retreat.
Day-to-day life is shared and flexible. We’ll often cook together and take trips to the grocery store as a team, choosing meals and foods for the week ahead. It’s a collaborative, easygoing rhythm where you’re included in family life -
What else ...
We are a homeschooling family, and part of your role would be engaging with the children in a natural, fun way through learning. They love reading books, practising writing and spelling, and really benefit from interacting with someone other than Mum—it brings a fresh energy and variety to their day.
They’re very social and curious, and genuinely enjoy getting to know people from different backgrounds. We’ve previously hosted a German backpacker, and they absolutely loved the experience, so they’re excited to build new connections and learn about different countries and cultures. -
