A joyful group of people pose with raised, muddy hands behind a partly constructed cob wall outdoors, surrounded by greenery, celebrating teamwork and eco-friendly building.
Several people work outdoors at a construction or gardening site, passing materials between each other. Gravel, buckets, and straw bales are scattered around, surrounded by greenery.
Three people, covered in mud, are happily working together outdoors. They appear to be building or gardening, smiling and enjoying themselves, surrounded by buckets, tarps, and greenery.

    Description

    WEST IRELAND
Are you interested in natural building?
Do you want to help Rónan and Cristina with the new extension of their Irish home?
    WHO ARE WE?
Our names are Rónan and Cristina . Nice to meet you
We are a couple and are both 43 years old.
Rónan is from Ireland, Cristina from Italy.
Rónan is a fire artist and has been involved in the global circus and flow arts community for over 20 years. He is passionate about Taichi, Qigong, meditation, spirituality, food, travel
Cristina is a interdisciplinary artist, contact improvisation and art teacher. She is passionate about movement, nature, facilitation, hosting, travel and community art.
The project takes place upon Rónan's family land and a nice community is established here with an acre organic walled garden.
A morning practice, followed by working on the house (about 5 hours a day) and relaxing in the evening, sauna, sea swims and sitting around the fire with good food and the possibility to explore beautiful West Cork in the summer.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Summer is the best time to visit West Cork. The climate is mild, with average temperatures between 15-19°C, long and bright days, ideal for hikes along the wild coast and summer festivals.
The atmosphere is lively with local events. Clonakilty is a vibrant town, with craft markets and a bohemian vibe. Nearby there are wonderful beaches and plenty of places to walk.
Ronan and I love traveling and embracing interculturality—for us, hosting is like traveling too.
We’re both passionate about cooking, movement practices, tai chi, flow arts, and dance, and we're happy to share our passions with those joining this summer adventure.

    OUR PROJECT
Last spring, we embarked on an exciting journey: building a natural extension to our Irish home using cob and strawbale techniques.

    Join Us This Summer!
From 25th May until the end of July, we're seeking enthusiastic, fit volunteers passionate about natural building and sustainable living. In return for your help (around 4-5 hours a day), we'll provide delicious home-cooked meals, a welcoming camping spot amid stunning Irish landscapes, and the chance to immerse yourself in this magical way of creating in harmony with nature.

    What You'll Gain
We'll  share all the hands-on knowledge we've gathered since last summer, plus a professional teacher will join us weekly to guide and inspire everyone. Come connect, learn, laugh, and build memories together—your skills and energy will make this project bloom!

    Accommodation

We have a camping area near the house among the trees, with some tents, mattresses, and sleeping bags available. There’s a compost toilet, plus a house with a kitchen and bathroom where you can eat and take shelter in case of rain.
We usually set up cooking rotations: we plan the week's menu together, Ronan and I provide the food, and then we cook it in turns.
Ronan and I are passionate about cooking and love preparing meals—we'll be happy to share our favorite dishes and invite you too to share your favorite recipes or dishes from your own origins with us.
