… read more rhythm, and allowed me time to slow down and reflect.
Ricardo is a kind, warm, funny, caring person and I had amazing conversation with him, and great company. He is a volcano of ideas, and has a vast knowledge which he is willing to share with whoever is interested.
Plus, he cooks insanely good. No joking.
The help was varied, physical and FUN! It mainly consisted of tidying up the place and preparing the ground for this new project Ricardo is embarking on. I also deeply appreciated that he was always cool and relaxed, allowing for plenty of room to work at one's own pace, always making sure the task that was carried out would match people's interests. I stayed for two weeks but I wished I could help out for longer. I will come back in the future to visit and see the (even more) amazing beauty this place will be turned into.

What a grounding and awe inspiring experience it was to stay and learn from Ricardo, he is gentle and wise and very calming to spend time with. The garden is incredible and we ate beautiful fresh food everyday prepared in the kitchen by the creek - sometimes Ricardo will make a cake! Lio stayed for two weeks and it was a pleasure to have her around.

… read more transportations are lifts and feet, and you won't see plastic wasting at all. I suggest to join Ricardo If you have willingness to be open minded, to accept uncondition and disinterested friendship, and to help him in his everyday's tasks. Aljezur is a nice city, I also spent two days near the Ocean and it was very good. The valley is full of surprises and amazing trees and flowers. Ricardo is a really spontaneus person, deeply true, deeply wise. You'll have unforgettable conversations with him and you'll never feel awkward during silence. Thank you Ricardo, this portuguese trip before a longer experience in Africa was more than expected, and fit my needed and hopes. All the best

Together with a friend I stayed a little over 1 week at Ricardo's place and it's been a very positive experience. It was special to get to know his way of living and to meet the people from the valley. Together we cooked, made music and worked in his yurt. I appreciate he gave me the chance to try new things, like the drill machine. Super cool! ;)

Difficult to put my experience into the valley into a few paragraphs but I will give it a go…
Ricardo was an amazing host and great company. I ate like a king and despite consistently adverse weather was kept warm and dry throughout.

… read more to do around the land depending on what suits your interests. Ricardo is a fountain of knowledge and I learnt a lot during my stay.
The valley itself is beyond words. I spent my first few days and nights in wonderment at the richness and variety of life within. Maybe I am too easily impressed? You will have to see for yourself!
