    Description

I'm a resident of Portland, Oregon and Workawayers will be involved in basic landscape maintenance (raking leaves, pulling weeds, sweeping, planting, etc.) at a 10-acre private park & garden that is open to the public and is a 5 minute walk from my property at the end of the lane. Workawayers will be under the guidance of the head gardener when helping at the garden. Office and computer work related to fund raising for the garden is also possible. If you have experience in marketing for a non-profit, creating fundraising letters, maintaining mailing lists, website development, direct mail and e-mail campaigns that would be very useful to us. We aim to maintain a healthy balance between outside manual labor and inside office work. Some "office" work can be done from your accommodations at your leisure. I'm health-conscious and a non-smoker and ask that you be the same. Thanks, Tom

Big city attractions, entertainment, sightseeing, museums, nightlife, bookstores, yoga, organic/health food, cultural experiences, cafes, etc. are all readily available in Portland, Oregon. Public transportation (city bus service) is a 5 minute walk from the house and then an approximately 15 minute ride into the city center. The house sits on 1.5 acres in a quiet neighborhood of other historic homes and is a 5 minute walk to a 10 acre park/garden at the end of the lane and which is open to the public. Good for quiet/meditative walks.
