Description
We're Sakti (Thai) and William (British) and we are currently creating a creative garden/farm community in rural Chiang Mai-about 50 minutes outside of the Old City. We have a good start but we need help in the house and garden, which may include some lifting. We also need some creative painters to fill up all of the white space on the walls and to create a garden and basically just a community feel that welcomes folks from around the world to explore their inner creativity in a loving and communal spirit.
We provide the main meal.and basics for self catered breakfast. Don’t worry, you will have more food that you can eat. We eat Vegetarian at most of the times. Shakti eats meat and fish too.Types of help and learning opportunities

*****IMPORTANT INFORMATION - please read!!******
August to September
We need people to clean, clear and set up at the garden.
There’s lot’s to do and it will be quite basic work.
Indoors that means cleaning and sorting Sakti’s stockroom.
Outdoors
Now is the rainy season so a time to plant out make trellises and device ways to be more water efficient.
After we finish moving we want to work on garden aesthetics. We need creative individuals to do DIY projects and develop new ideas on how to decorate garden space and houses, while using supplies we have around us, found items, discards to make ‘scraptures’.
We also need help with painting - art murals and mannequins, which I want to use as a decoration around garden.
We need help with Bamboo work, so manual skills are welcome. We also have sewing machines so somebody experienced with sewing is more than welcome!
Please mention what you can help us with in the message.
We ask you for at least 1-2 weeks notice before arrival. Also please tell us how long you like to stay with us .Languages spoken
English: Fluent
Thai: FluentAccommodation
Outdoor screened veranda on the property with mattresses on the floor. It's a comfy camping experience.
What else ...
We strongly recommend you rent a motorbike as the garden is atop a big hill and a little isolated. We have two bicycles for adventure cycling in the area. This a quiet retreat like workaway where one can sit quietly and journal and make music after working hours.
Working day ends at 3 pm and you are free to explore and do things. **We do not provide an evening meal so you can either eat out or self cater. The street food vendors and market stalls all do takeaway food if you don.’t cook.
**Right at this moment we need someone who can help outside gardening.
That will involve grass cutting, tree pruning, moving planters and pots, landscaping.
We are putting one house on the market and need the garden to look tidy if not fabulous as it ought to be the plus point to the house but at the moment is messy.
Note it is the rainy season and there are bugs and flying insects that bite this being Thailand so be sure you can tolerate that.A little more information

This is the first time I took part in workaway, before I was too worry about this trip because I traveled alone and I could't speak English fluently, everything was new for me. However, it was a great time when I stayed with you in 2 weeks (from 27/6 to 10/7, I'am sorry because I write… read more

Very welcoming, they did everything to make me feel good. I also ate very well as I rarely had the opportunity among all my encounters.
They have a very beautiful plot of land that has left me dreaming several times. It's full of potential and I'm happy the work we did during my little week with them.… read more
My stay is my first Workaway. Everything is new and fresh for me. I can’t speak English fluently though, They share their thoughts to be kind when I ask for some advice on my concerns. They taught me about Thai festivals, culture, and food to show me on YouTube. I could have a relaxing time without being too… read more
They performed well at the tasks given them and can work well on their own.
We enjoyed learning about Poland a country neither of us had visited. Anna made strawberry dumplings for supper which were a treat.
