    Description

I am looking for help entertaining my son while I am working on my farm. Due to the living situation I am only looking to host women.

I have a small farm that I am slowly getting back in shape. Living in the foothills of the Comeraghs, looking down over the picturesque Nire valley.
    Stunning views and extremely peaceful.

I have a small son (pre school age). He is very high energy and enjoys physical play, both inside and outside. You would need to be able to get down on his level and start games and get him wanting to stay with you as he is not a fan of me leaving him.

I will always be within shouting distance so it is not sole charge. You will always have myself on hand if needed. My son is an active, busy child who likes to have a friend to join in his games. English is a must as he is very chatty.

I breed and train ponies and horses as part of a breed conservation programme not for profit. Currently have 3 Kerry Bog ponies and a Connemara filly. No riding available as all stock are too young bar one tiny pony who is too small. This year I have two ponies that are due to start training this year and that would be one of the jobs that are hard to do with a small child in tow.

Other projects this year include stone walling, a poly tunnel and vegetable beds to be planted and fruit cages to build. Any produce grown is for personal use.
We have a farm barn/stables to be built and the entire farm to fence (with tractors 🙈😂)

Accommodation is in the family home. A single bedroom with full access to the rest of the house. You will be part of the family while staying with us. For this reason I prefer to do a one week trial before committing to a longer stay to ensure a good fit with my son and myself. He is naturally friendly but can take time to take to new people.

With a small boy around there are lots of beach trips and other small outings happening weekly. Plenty of opportunities to get out and see the local sites and enjoy the hiking available.

I sew children’s clothing for Christmas markets as well as for my own son and myself. If it is something you are interested in I’m happy to teach. I also knit and I enjoy baking and cooking and am always happy to swap recipes or instruct.

You will need to be Dog friendly, child friendly and willing to do a variety of different activities. However helping hours are short and tasks can be spread out.

We are extremely remote so if you wish to travel independently while here you will need to have your own car. However I go to town at least twice a week and am out and about most days.
