Description
We are a family that runs a farm in the beautiful Valdres. This is a medium sized farm located about 550 meters above sea level. We have a diversified livestock. Sheep are the main basis in animal husbandry. We have different sheep breed, as gammalnorsk spælsau (very old breed, all with horns and different colors), blackface and Norsk kvit sau. But we also have goats, chickens, ducks and rabbits and 2 dogs (one hunting dog and one herding dog), and a cat. We alse started with 4 beehives and producing honey! The farm is easily accessible by road, in between Fagernes, rural town in Valdres, and Beitostølen, one of the nation's leading tourist destinations.
Age 20 and up. No vegetarians/vegans please. If you are a non-eu-citizen, you have to apply for visum according to norwegian rules.

Accommodation
You will be staying in an old small house, located on the farm. This is a timber building from around 1850. There are two beds. This is a cozy house with a lovely atmosphere. Wood stove and fireplace. Your own bath and toilet in the main house. You eat with us in the main house, you will be served traditional Norwegian dishes as well as international classic dishes. During the summertime, june-aug, we live in the mountain at our summer-farm. There will be possibility also for you to stay with us at the summer-farm for some days, if you like. At the summer-farm, we live the whole summer without electricity and internet. All the animals are with us in the mountain this time.
What else ...
From Oslo to Valdres you arrive by bus. We pick you up at the bus station.
In your free time, there are many possibilities for hiking in Jotunheimen ex Besseggen, skiing (cross-country and alpine), fishingopportunities 5 min away. In the autumn you can also join in groosehunting, as a spectator. We hunt with one of the dogs, "Birk", an hungarian vizla.

She was a pleasent young woman who worked hard and independent. She was very helpfull and social and very nice to be togheter with. We can absolutly recomend her for further hosts.
