  • Description

Paradise available right now.....and the calves are ready to be tagged and marked !

Your 'resort style' room with its own bathroom opens onto the garden with roses and trees all around. There is potential to earn some money in the vineyards next door if you would like. Wake up to a spectacular view of riverside mountains and have a morning swim in the resort style pool (even though it's getting a bit cool) or have sauna to start your day !

We are looking for one or two easy going girls who would like to join us on our 80 HA property close to Canberra in exchange for some light help around the place. We love great food and wine and our guests are treated to a varied and tasty menu that changes from day to day. We have a great wine cellar and bar where our neighbours and friends often join us for fun! (You can test your musical talents too...)

We prefer easy going, fun loving , willing people to help with a lot of different activities on our substantial riverside property. There is always plenty to do but there is a lot of fun too ! You will see from our reviews that we care about our guests and ensure they enjoy being here! The weather is gorgeous this time of the year and the star lit nights are warm and romantic.

Close to the National Capital we are lucky to be on the beautiful Murrumbidgee River which is popular with all the horses and other animals. Right now the Red Angus cows and calves are enjoying the long green grass and getting ready for separation ! That is an important event on the farm !
You can learn an awful lot about the Australian way of life and the environment is a natural Haven, especially if you love photography, trekking, swimming, canoeing, cooking , and observing the abundance of wild life.

Our guests often do a range of different things which include..... gardening, cleaning, painting, house keeping, laundry, collecting fire wood , looking after our big beautiful Maremma dog Sophia and Oscar the cat), cooking, driving the tractor and trucks, you can plant trees and vegetables in the garden ; maybe you can teach 6 year old Jack Piano !

The estate is a property on 80 Hectares (200 acres) of land and is only a 3 hour drive to Sydney or the snow fields at Thredbo and enjoys vivid colours, beautiful views and spectacular countryside. It is a 2 ½ hour drive to the beach in summer and the snow fields in Winter time.It is only a 2 hour drive to the fishing boat at Batemans Bay (or 20 minutes in the aeroplane) where you can enjoy some time off on the pristine beaches of the South Coast.

The homestead was awarded the Master Builders House of the year in 1994 . Since then it has been continually developed and maintained . We enjoy having friends and family occasionally coming for warming Bon Fires holidays and parties. Your accommodation is in a beautiful state room with own bathroom facing North to the garden .

We have numerous horses here with opportunities to ride, hundreds of kangaroo, deer, wombats, fish and many more wild animals and birds to see and photograph. There are motorbikes, quads, canoes and even a flight in our aerobatic aeroplane or helicopter to see the countryside for those adrenalin junkies. We encourage our guests to do nature walks, read, paint, or generally relax in the garden when help is finished and they have time off.
This is a 'one of a kind' place in Australia and many of our guests become close friends and come back to stay with us numerous times. We like to think of them as our extended family and our main interest is the cultural exchange and experience.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

It is a great place to relax with many places to sit and read a book or listen to your favourite music. You can learn everything from gardening (dead heading roses, trimming trees, using mowers, chain saw, whipper snipper, weeding), painting, farming, cooking, driving the club car, a postie bike, farm machines, fencing tools, cattle mustering and many more activities. Our guests enjoy swimming in the heated pool , kayaking, walking , photography, cooking and many more activities....or just relaxing and listening to the birds. But you can also learn a lot about yourself and enjoy solitude if you want......

  • Help

It is a big home so there is always some cleaning, ironing and general maintenance plus farm help. We usually cook dinner together so it is a great shared cultural exchange and it is not a part of the daily help routine. It is a lot of fun and there is more wine drunk than in the cooking....There is often gardening (planting, weeding, mowing, leaf blowing) and fixing timber and electric fences during the day . it is a stunning property of 80 ha with a veggie garden, orchard and a beautiful rose garden. We have also a number of more specialised tasks for people who may be more interested in higher skilled activities such as fencing, mechanical , building, painting, farming tasks and so on. You can also learn to operate a range of machines if you like and perform other tasks that will help you in later ventures. We prefer our guests to have had some 'life' experiences and be mature.......if not you will still love this peaceful and beautiful environment.
