    Description

We run an off the grid permaculture farm with a growing food forest, vegetable beds, ornamental plants, secondary and primary forest and a few farm animals near Puerto Viejo, Limón. Over 120+ acres, with 70% primary rainforest, creeks and a network of trails. We host between 4 -6 volunteers.

It is our desire and intention to blend the mixed characteristics of the land to offer a balance between a committed environmental protection, civic education, financial sustainability and permaculture principles. We desire to create an environment and community that optimizes the beauty, magic and power of living in synchronicity between humans, animals, wildlife, plants and natural resources in a sustainable and regenerative manner.

Are you ready for a unique tropical jungle farming experience?

We are an off-grid, large Permaculture farm on a 120-acre private reserve, of approx 2 years in the process.

We are looking for volunteers who are genuinely interested in a farming experience and passionate about it. We prefer to host volunteers with experience in permaculture and/or tropical farming and that can stay for at least one month.

We offer up to 4 simple bungalows with bedding and three meals per day. A farmhouse with wood-burning kitchen. The facilities are simple but comfortable.
We will provide you with a place to sleep and food supplies. Volunteers are responsible for cooking their own meals and keeping the house clean and tidy.

In return, generally speaking we need help with:
*Gardens: Preparing beds, seedlings, planting, soil preparation, composting, weeding, watering and harvesting, pest control, pruning, transplanting, landscaping, agroforestry.
*General maintenance: trails, fixings and remodelations around the farm, construction, wood work and any other sustainable building techniques. As well as taking care of our regenerative systems.
*Animal care: Feeding them, keeping their areas clean.

    Upcoming projects:
    *Building a clay oven
*Building a new water pond/water catchment system
    *Banana circles around the property
    *A new food forest
    *New garden beds for veggies
    *Installing an irrigation system

***Up to 25 hours per week or - opportunity to help more - at your pace - as it is a farm...and there is always something to do ;). Possible to hike in / out to town at any time***
