Description
CURRENTLY ONLY LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE WILLING TO COME FOR AT LEAST A MONTH
Hi there! My name is Claire, I was born in France and have been living in Costa Rica for almost 5 years now. I own a small house near the town of Bribri and I have started all kind of projects such as creating a permaculture garden and renovating the house into a sustainable one. The town I live in is located between the sea, the mountains, and Indigenous protected areas, in a pretty quiet area of Costa Rica, surrounded by forests and rivers. I have dogs and cats. It is a great place to enjoy peace and relax, while reconnecting to nature.
Even though I aim to turn the dream of living sustainably into a reality, I had a very demanding job these last two years and couldn't keep up with the projects I had started... I recently got a job that gives me more free time, and a have a lot to do between the maintenance of the house and the outside area, and all the other projects. I am looking for volunteers who will contribute to helping me do it, which means help with the weekly cleaning/cooking/gardening tasks, and work on any other project the rest of the time! Helpers must have a sense of responsability, as I won't always be at home during your work hours.
I ask for volunteers to help out for 5 days a week, and for about 3 hours on those days, in exchange for accomodation. We can talk and agree on sharing food and meals for a small fee.
Please be aware that I live in a remote area and I live a very authentic and simple life. I'll welcome you with open arms, but my house does not have much luxury and you can easily find it "boring". I'm happy to live this way, but it can be a culture shock if it's your first time in Costa Rica, and I only welcome helpers who will try to embrace those differences without judging. Also, you have to be aware that if you don't have your own vehicle, it might not be the easiest for you to visit the surroundings and go out at night. You can go to Bribri or Puerto Viejo by bus or taxi, and I might be able to give you a ride from time to time, but the buses do not run at night. If you need to buy something, there is a corner store 100 meters away from the house, and Bribri will provide with everything else!
I love to meet new people, learn from each other and I hope that you'll have a great time at home! :)Types of help and learning opportunities

During your free time, you can walk through the town or relax in the river.
If you take a bus or a taxi, you can go to the towns of Bribri or Puerto Viejo, relax at the beach, get to know Indigenous people, or visit natural parks.Help
