Description
Welcome to our family home on beautiful Bornholm!
We are a Swedish-speaking family living in a nature-close house on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. Our home is surrounded by forest, fields and peace – a great place for someone who enjoys nature, simplicity and family life.
I live here with my three children, aged 1, 4 and 6, who are homeschooled. Life is full and busy, so we I am looking for one or two kind and reliable people to help me with everyday tasks – especially cooking, household chores, and spending time with the children. If you have experience with kids, that’s a big plus!
You will have your room for sleeping (my sons room on the picture, but I will rearange it before you arrive. You will of course have access to the main rooms for showering, laundry, cooking, and other comforts. There is a possibility to stay at my cabin as well, but it only have a stove as heating and a simple outdoor toilet.
I offer food and accommodation in exchange for your help, and I am happy to help you get around the island if you don’t have your own car (by agreement).
If you enjoy being around children, helping out where needed, and living simply close to nature, you might be a great fit here. I look forward to hearing from you!Types of help and learning opportunities

Staying with us offers a unique opportunity to experience everyday life in a Swedish-speaking family living in Denmark. You'll get an insight into Scandinavian family culture, homeschooling, and sustainable, nature-close living.
We enjoy open conversations, sharing meals, and exchanging ideas about parenting, education, and life in general. You’ll be part of our daily routines and get to experience how we balance family, work, and creativity in a rural setting.
If you're interested in languages, you can practice Swedish and possibly some Danish, and we'd love to learn about your background, traditions, and experiences too. We see this as a mutual exchange where we both grow and learn from each other.Au Pair Help

Help
We mainly need help during the daytime, around 3 hours per day (weekdays). The tasks can vary from day to day depending on what’s needed, but the main focus is on:
Cleaning and tidying up the house
Cooking or helping in the kitchen
Spending time outdoors with the kids (playing, exploring, keeping them company)
The main goal is to help us – the parents – get through the days a little more smoothly by taking care of some of the practical things or keeping the kids engaged while we focus on other tasks. We are open to different kinds of help depending on your strengths and interests.Languages spoken

You will stay in a small, simple cabin located just next to our house. The cabin is basic but private – perfect for someone who enjoys a peaceful and natural setting. It’s equipped with electricity and a comfortable bed, and there is space for your personal belongings. You will have your own small kitchen.
The cabin does not have running water, and only a simple outdoor toilet, but you’ll have access to the main house for showering, laundry and other everyday needs.
The surroundings are quiet and green, with forests and fields just outside the door – ideal if you enjoy spending time in nature.
We offer food and accommodation as part of your stay, and if you don’t have a car, we can help with transport around the island when needed.A little more information
