    Description

I would like to make space for others to share life in nature with me. The things I value are cooperation, sustainability, preserving nature and connection.

At the moment I am living by myself and having social support is important. Simple company and some help with work is what I expect. This might involve winterizing the house, I'd like to build a rocket-stove and add insulation, as well as build some sort of solar water-heater.

I am good at coming up with ideas and working with tools but it helps to have assistance and help the work-flow. Skills like managing, planning and motivation are mostly needed. Also experience with plants would be appreciated, to grow food indoors and in the garden. I love to cook, mostly plant-based; which is another aspect of cohabitation to share. I value nutrition, movement and yoga as ways to contribute to the wellness of others. Although not a certified teacher, I practice different disciplines I could share.

I offer a safe and calm home away from home and many of the activities I enjoy: cycling, swimming, hiking and antiquing.

If this lifestyle interests you, please ask me more specific questions about accommodation, views on relationships, taste in music art and fashion. Those things are important to agree on. I consider myself pretty down to Earth, open-minded and rational, for a human being. : )

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I've learned many skills, like construction and repairs from my father who is an engineer, also working odd jobs and through workaway experiences. One can learn anything through personal teaching and sharing knowledge on-line, but it has to be put into practice.

This is an opportunity to try out what one is passionate about in reality, with all the little problems that need solving. (not usually shown in You-Tube videos)

I am looking to learn new skills too, like canning/pickling food, sewing, making clothes and fabric shade-covers.

  • Help

    Help

This fall I would like help to prep the garden for next season by weeding and adding compost, as well as making new raised beds.

General yard decluttering and organizing, no big building projects. Though I would appreciate help with planing or drafting ideas for the future.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Trails for hiking or biking, and clean lakes for swimming are a short distance away. There is a forest to explore also, my favourite place.

I am willing to drive to town or Ottawa once in a while. There is much to see that I can recommend. Though I live here for the peace and tranquility of nature, and not always doing something. Dolce far niente.
