    Description

We are a three-generation family of six — from a newborn to our 85-year-old grandmother — living together on a small private farm in the beautiful Allgäu region of Bavaria, surrounded by rolling hills and the foothills of the Alps.

Life here is quiet, unhurried, and close to nature. No busy roads, no city noise — just fresh air, open skies, and the sounds of our animals: four dogs, chickens, goats, sheep, and cats who all call this place home too. We grow our own vegetables and keep our animals purely for ourselves — this is simply how we choose to live, not a business. Everything is for our own consumption and all your tasks are not related to business.

We love spending time outdoors and working together on whatever needs doing — whether that's tending the garden, looking after the animals, or tackling projects around the house. Shared meals are a big part of our daily life, and there's nothing better than cooking together and gathering around the fire in the evening.

The area is perfect for hiking, jogging, and long walks through the countryside. Nature is quite literally on your doorstep.

If you enjoy hands-on work, the rhythm of everyday farm life, and being part of a warm and lively household, you'll feel right at home with us.

One of our favourite parts of having workawayers is simply sharing daily life together — and there’s plenty to share here.

Food is at the heart of our home. We love cooking together, firing up the grill, and sitting down to eat as a group. Expect hearty meals, good conversations, and the occasional evening around the fire.

You’ll never just be handed a to-do list and left to figure it out alone. We work side by side, and along the way you’re welcome to pick up skills — from gardening and animal care to woodworking, sewing, or photography. And of course, we’re just as curious to learn from you and hear about where you come from.

Language is no barrier: we’re comfortable in both German and English, so conversations flow naturally either way.

When it’s time to explore, the Allgäu has a lot to offer. The mountains and lakes are right on your doorstep — perfect for hiking, swimming, or just soaking it all in. For a change of scenery, charming towns like Lindau on Lake Constance or Kempten are just a short drive away.

We hope you leave with new skills, good memories, and maybe a few German words you didn’t know before.

We’re looking for helping hands across a variety of tasks — no single day looks the same here!

In the garden, there’s always something to do: planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting depending on the season.

With our animals, we’d love support with daily feeding routines, making sure everyone is healthy and happy, and the occasional fencing or enclosure work.

On the diy side, we have ongoing projects like constructing a carport, repairing or building animal shelters, bread baking oven, maybe sauna, and general renovation work around the farm.

If you enjoy working with your hands and don’t mind getting them dirty — you’ll fit right in.

And if you have a creative side, we’d love that too! Garden design, art, sewing, photography — there’s plenty of room to bring your own ideas and leave a little piece of yourself here.

No experience is required for most tasks — a willing attitude and a good mood go a long way. We’re happy to work alongside you and show you the ropes.

    Accommodation

We offer a private guest bedroom with its own bathroom — a quiet and comfortable space that’s just for you. If you prefer sleeping under the stars, you’re also welcome to set up your own tent or park your campervan on our property. Wi-Fi and access to a washing machine are of course included.

When it comes to food, we share meals together as a household. We grow a lot of our own vegetables in the garden, and you’ll find plenty of fresh, seasonal produce on the table. Our diet leans vegetarian and sometimes vegan — but we’re not strict about it. When the grill comes out, all bets are off.

We have a little store in the village not far away and make regular trips to the supermarket, so there’s always enough of everything. You won’t go hungry here.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our farm is tucked away in the countryside, so public transport is pretty limited out here — but that’s not a problem. We’re happy to pick you up from the nearest train station and drop you off again when you leave. We’re also regularly out and about by car, so getting around for day trips or errands is easy.

One house rule: please no smoking indoors or in the barn. Outside on the property is fine.
