    Description

2024 rented the house and no longer live there anymore.
Closed for this year while i travel myself.

Hello fellow travelers, are you ready to adventure to the mountains of Puerto Rico and help with my eco-project farm of better farming practices and self sustainability.

Looking for Builders, Growers, Planters. People that have some previous experience and patience to help start a farm. Good things take time after all. THIS IS HARD PHYSICAL LABOR.

Need help Building a chicken coop later. No need to have experience in all but any would be great(just putting it out there).

    *WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW*

I am taking care of the family farm, its not a business and need your help replanting and caring for all my babies, i can ignore the farm at times and not give it the love it deserves tssk tssk smh. But hey, most of farming is to keep showing up, and thats my idea, to prepare the farm now and get it going now and not be in this *starting place*. Trees like avocados and citruses (that are now planted) will often take years to fruit, its a good thing i planted those cashews already.

Im living in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house for over a year now alone, even before COVID, so i really want someone that going to be helpful to me; who i can trade away my solitude, peace and privacy, im sorry but i dont think i can host you in your vacation if thats what youre looking for. My place is in the mountains PR has a very strict lockdown and curfews, things arent how they were.

After the hurricane season of 2017, our family farm was destroyed entirely, after two long years i'm taking care of rebuilding it and planting for the future, i plan to integrate new energy sources and even have a a few bee hives as well. In total there are 25 acres of land in the fresh mountains of Puerto Rico. Tasks that need to be done are cleaning, building, growing and planting, starting August 2019.

Planting more plantains, coffee and citruses this fall 2020, want to get some first hand experience?

I will provide secure housing, running water and food to workawayrs. There are many things to see in Coamo and Orocovis where the farm is. Its a very scenic route in the central mountains. Im very connected to my roots in the island and help clear some confusion in the history of Puerto Rico and such you might have. My family also has a restaurant of typical/cultural food so youll learn first hand every tipe of food there is in such a small island. I can also helpyou plan for your time of, as roadtripping/''chinchorreo'' is the unofficial sport of the boricuas. We are after all some of the happiest people in the world, come find out why.

I speak Spanish, as all Puertoricans do; English is a second language to many in the island; likely more younger people & am learning Italiano. Want to practice some of these languages with me or teach me how to ask for a beer in your language?

Theres so many fruits and vegetables in this tiny island that youve never heard or even thought about, let me introduce you to some of the most juiciest tropical fruits youve ever seen, Mangoes the size of your head, after all, did you know theres over 1,000 mango varieties in Puerto Rico?

Youll learn about the tropical weather, survival in the mountains and self reliance if the power and water go out because of a storm(hurricane season(nothing to worry about really)). In addition to all the growing requirements for all the plants i have at home, now 24 different crops.

I ask 5 hours of help, five days a week in exchange for the housing and meals that are provided. Can also earn minimum wage if Us citizen or have work visa and work above the required for housing and meals.

I am taking care of the family farm, its not a business and need your help replanting and building more sustainable structures.

The land is nearly 25 acres. Most of which will be planted this year. Going into the next few months. Then in November production should be starting and then after general farm help with clearing weeds, picking produce, planting etc.

Open to building new projects you feel would improve the general aspect of it. What can you bring to the table?

In exchange i will provide meals and housing in exchange for help and provide the local minimum wage if the hours go above the tasks listed.

The help is easy in the mornings as the mountains keep the air fresh and cool almost till noon.

    Accommodation

I have a house in the middle of the farm where i plan to accommodate guests in. I have two spare bedrooms and an extra bathroom with running water. As much as i enjoy the privilege of living by myself, it can get lonely sometimes and the workload to heavy. I enjoy the company of others, specially when you divide chores around the house and live in a positive environment. I got mountain internet so its not the fastest, but it definitely gets the job done.

Anything else feel free to shoot me a message.

There's waterfalls, state parks and zip lining within a half hour drive. There's also natural hot springs near by if work gets to be too hard you can go relax and loosen the body and be back to new.

Bars within walking distance and food. Lots of locals to interact and learn from.
