We are small family near Chiang Saen ,Chiang Rai , Thailand. We have a small guesthous near the main tourist destination in the Golden Triangle, which is where the three countries: Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos meet. Many Thais come to our guesthouse to stay a few days or even weeks. The community is a very tight-knit family and all know each other. You will have the best environment to study Thai and converse in it. There are not many foreigners around at all so it is perfect if you want to immerse yourself in Thai and local peoples culture. The living is very simple and laidback. You will be provided with your own house which is a big room with bathroom (hot water), these are the same rooms rented out to customers and enough for 2 people, depending on if I have two volunteers, you will share this with them. There is a nice porch area with wooden table to sit and relax in your free-time.
for the same reason, non- smokers preferred.

Around town there are several restaurants to dine and drink coffee at. There are some shops that have clothes, postcards and other things you can buy but not a huge selection, but Chiang Sean, which is about 10km from here will has more options. And in addition Mae Sai is also not too far away. You are free to use a bicycle for transportation.
The weather is very nice, and cooler than Bangkok temperatures. At night, it even gets a little chilly, but not too much.
It is possible to take a boat into Laos, where there is a marketplace and casino. There is no visa require for a small day trip. You can take a tour of the tri-point area .
We require a Native Chines and/or a Native English speaker for language practice for me and my three children who are 3 year , 6 year and 8 years old. They prefer to speak English as their first language, similar to growing up in a Native English country. They speak English with me and Thai with their father. It would be great if you could plan lessons for them for 2-3 hours every morning. You can also play and speak English with them throughout the day as you like. The goal is to create a Native English or Chinese environment and have cultural exchange. So come join if you are curious about this kind of experiment. I also want them to have a passion for traveling when they grow up so they can have a broader future.
Other then teaching and playing with my children, I need help with general house keeping with my guesthouse when there are guests. You will help me with watering the plants, making the bed and any other little housekeeping chores that I might need help with. It is a great way to practice teaching without too much stress and get acquainted with real Thai people and way of life up in the far north. So come join us in our little guesthouse at the point where 3 countries meet?
This host offers a language exchange
I can communicate in English and a little bit Chinese. I love to learn a new language and new people.
