    Description

We are an English couple in our 60's from Eastbourne on the South East Coast of UK. We live in a small village in the Countryside in the Dept of Creuse in the Nouvelle -Aquitaine Region of France (formally known as the Limousin Region). It is the second least populated part of France and people seem to live longest here. Our neighbours are a mixture of French, English speaking French and English.

Although surrounded by nature we are not far from commerce with the market towns of Boussac and Aigurande both approx 20 kms away. We have recently moved to our 4 bed house, which although is easily habitable, requires some re-freshing, painting and decorating. We have a good sized garden that we have worked into a manageable state with a recently prepared allotment.

It would be useful to have a Workaway to help with general gardening (lawn mowing, strimming, weeding etc) and painting and decorating as we start to refresh the house.

We have a medium sized dog and although he has a big mouth is very friendly. We also have 9 cats and 4 chickens. Although this amount of cats sounds extreme some are our original pets and some are cats we have rescued from previously running a cat rescue and re-homing association at our previous address and have since also become our pets.

We are a friendly and easy going couple and like meeting new people. We have our son who will be 26 this year (2025) who lives approx an hour away in Montlucon. His day job is working at a school and evenings and most weekends are spent with the feminine teams of a local football club where he is training to be a coach.

The 3 of us have lived in France since
2008 and have mixed standards of French with our son being the best as he has been through the French school system.

We like engaging in conversations and discussions over a bottle of wine on current and past events.

Any Workaway will have their own bedroom and shared use of the shower room and 2 WC's.

    Looking forward to hosting soon.
