Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Volunteers can learn organic & permaculture farming methods, food processing (seasonal) and how to prepare delicious vegetarian meals. We also teach Yoga, Meditation to those who are interested.
Tasks are varied and depend on the season. Our permaculture farm is a work in progress and we are working hard to become more self sufficient and sustainable. During the winter we grow most of our vegetables and throughout the year we are developing an organic permaculture orchard with over 50 varieties of trees. Help in the farm involves planting, harvesting, mulching, weeding, feeding our dog, making compost, irrigating and cutting grass etc.
We need hard working volunteers who can preferably speak some Chinese and have substantial farming experience. Volunteers with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building experience are especially welcome.

In 2015 we refurbished the volunteers accommodation with hard wood floors and new bathrooms. There are 2 shared bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with hot water (one for females and one for males). We usually host between 2-3 volunteers in each bedroom and provide sleeping mats, pillows and bedsheets. Please bring your own sleeping bag, if possible. There is also a separate room with open plan kitchenette, bathroom and sitting room with WIFI where volunteers eat their breakfast. All other meals are taken collectively in our retreat center.
What else ...
The activities here are varied and any skill in different fields is welcome. Volunteers can stay for a minimum of 28 days (if possible) and up to several months. There are bicycles for volunteers to use on their days off.

Fred, everyone is appreciating the great signboard you made for the farm and Dama, the maps of the farm you made are extremely useful. We wish you all best for your future volunteer experiences and highly recommend you both as volunteers.
I just stayed for 2 weeks but if I could I would have stayed longer. It was a peaceful place with very nice people. Work was hard but not too hard. And the food was sooo good and healthy. I'm happy that I had the opportunity to work here, I made new friends and learned a lot about ecological farming. It felt good to relax after
I stayed there for 2 weeks and it was a great experience. Volunteering in farm with good people around was really great. And volunteers were treated very well, good accommodation and common area. Good varieties of ingredients were given for the volunteers to cook. And I have to say that it was hard work, those

The system at this farm is well organized allowing for proper diligence which I feel is important when working on this sized farm/retreat center. The people, both the permanent workers and the volunteers, all made it into a greater experience. There is a lot to learn about the land and a

I get to know wonderful people and had a lot of fun! I extended my stay as long as I could, still just 18 days instead of 12 and I wished it would have been longer.
Anyway, the work was usually 3 hours in the vegetable garden in the morning and 3 hours in the fruit orchard in
